With Teletraan I repaired, the Autobots have begun repairing more of their fallen warriors. However, some such as Bumblebee and Ratchet are still far beyond repair. Outside the Ark, Spike and Carly talk about taking some time to repair themselves with a dinner away from the whirlwind of action their lives have been lately with the Transformers. However, their conversation is interrupted by General Flagg, who attempts to apologize to Carly for capturing and interrogating her, but is halted by Ultra Magnus. Magnus tells Flagg that it is only out of appreciation for his recent aid that Magnus hasn't told Optimus Prime about his capture and torture at Flagg's hands. However, Flagg defends his actions as the necessary precautions to defend his people against a hostile alien threat, ending with a veiled threat that Optimus Prime would understand. Magnus is left speechless.
At the Hoover Dam, the Combaticons cause terror, blasting at fleeing humans while Swindle siphons their electricity into Energon cubes. Suddenly, Skywarp teleports in and joins them in their carnage.
Everything's turned upside-down now.
Optimus Prime sits with Thundercracker, who contemplates the cruelty with which his fellow Decepticons have conducted themselves. Prime is heartened to know that Thundercracker shares his distaste for how their violence affects the innocents of Earth, and admits that even the Autobots sometimes see the planet as beneath them. Thundercracker agrees, saying he would choose Skywarp over the humans, a mindset Prime does not begrudge.
At the Shadow Watch Underground Base, General Flagg meets with Miles Mayhem, asking if Mayhem got everything he needs to complete his “little project” from the Transformers. Mayhem is indignant at this assessment, blustering that his technology is far more advanced than anything else on the planet, all thanks to his brilliance. When Flagg reminds him that Matt Trakker helped him with the project, Mayhem attacks him. However, Flagg easily dispenses with him, and due to the fact that Mayhem hasn't produced a single prototype, he sees no reason to keep him around as Director of Shadow Watch, ordering a group of soldiers to arrest him.
Back on the Ark, Wheeljack pleads with Optimus to let himself get repaired, but Prime continues to put the needs of others before himself, suggesting they begin searching for the rest of the Autobots thrown from the Ark when it crashed. He also considers repairing the remaining Decepticons, but Thundercracker objects, fearing the harm that would come from his reawakened brothers and sisters. Prime agrees and finally decides to be repaired. Outside, Ultra Magnus meets with Arcee and confesses to her that, after everything that has happened to him, he wishes to pass the title of Magnus to her. Inside, with Thundercracker having now replaced his Decepticon insignia with an Autobrand, the fully-repaired Optimus Prime tells his Autobots that they have a new mission: ridding the planet of all Decepticons once and for all!
On Cybertron, Cliffjumper sneaks through Decepticon territory with a handful of recovered pieces of equipment. However, while he can avoid the patrols of Decepticons on foot, he has no idea that his every movement is being watched from above… by Shockwave, still alive and atop one of the towers!
"There are those among my Autobots who see my actions on this world as folly. Even they, though good of heart, see this world as beneath us. Unworthy of our notice."
"Is it okay to admit there's a part of me that agrees with them? If I had to choose between Skywarp and a hundred of these creatures, I would choose Skywarp. But that doesn't mean I want them to die."

"Run, run, little Autobot. I'll peel the steel from your frame soon enough. So swears... SHOCKWAVE."
Jetfire has been fully repaired after being near-fatally wounded by Starscream in issue #1 and revived but mode locked in issue #8.
Jetfire remarks that there was good in Starscream once, something we saw — along with their friendship — in the flashbacks of issues #13 and #14.
Carly and Ultra Magnus were captured by G.I. Joe/Shadow Watch in issue #18.
As Optimus and Thundercracker talk, we see a fully grown buck in a callback to the infamous deer scene from issue #2.
Ratchet and Elita One are the two who have been most critical towards Optimus for his prioritizing of Earth and the humans.
General Flagg namedrops Matt Trakker as having worked with Mayhem on his "little project". Readers were introduced to Trakker in the G.I. Joe segment of the Energon Universe 2025 Special, wherein he alluded to being on the run and involved in a dangerous secret project and showed awareness of the Transformers.
Ultra Magnus has been dealing with post-traumatic stress ever since his capture and torture at the hands of Shockwave, as seen in issue #9.
Wheeljack says that they've revived everyone who was accounted for in the ship, and that any other missing Autobots are expected to have been thrown from the ship when the Ark crashed. One of those Autobots is Hound, who has been keeping busy in the pages of G.I. Joe.
Shockwave was believed dead when Optimus Prime crushed his head with his bare hands in issue #12. It seems he wasn't quite as dead as believed, but his body and head are still in a state of disrepair.
This issue reveals that the "Magnus" part of Ultra Magnus's name is actually a title. While typically "Ultra Magnus" is simply the character's name, there have been instances where this is not the case. Transformers Animated used "Magnus" as the highest rank within the Autobots above Prime in a subversion of the usual pattern. The 2005 IDW continuity featured "Ultra Magnus" as a pseudonym used by a variety of Autobot lawmen after the originator of the name (for whom it was simply his given name) was killed.
Among the deactivated Decepticons in the Ark are classic Decepticons Blitzwing, Dirge (officially completing the appearances of the Coneheads in the Energon Universe), and female Seeker Slipstream, a character who – like Bulkhead – began life in Transformers: Animated before making the jump to other iterations.
While watching Thundercracker display his new Autobot symbols, Bulkhead jokingly wonders if Megatron is next to join them, an obvious reference to the time Megatron did join the Autobots.
Optimus acknowledging that his flaw is projecting kindness onto those who have none, harkens back to his original character bio written by Bob Budiansky which lists Optimus being too compassionate as a major weakness of his.
When Skywarp reintroduces himself to the Combaticons, his right null-ray is just kinda floating near his arm instead of being attached to anything.
The page after Thundercracker shows off his Autobrand colors his eyes as blue instead of red. We're not sure if this is intentional or not since previous pages, including the page revealing him sporting the Autobot insignia, still had his eyes in red hues. However, we've seen Starscream's eyes change blue to red and back multiple times in this series, as well as Optimus' optics when he was under the influence of Megatron's arm.
Not an out-and-out error per se... but this issue reveals that several inactive Decepticons, including at least Dirge, Slipstream, and Blitzwing, were left on the Ark. So, um...why didn't Starscream, Megatron, or Soundwave, who would have been in need of numbers on their side, bring them up at any point?
Ultra Magnus's antenna are still being colored blue.
Miles says that his full name is "Miles McKane Mayhem."
