Does he know the PIT maneuver?

Reverb had been sighted in Los Angeles, and NEST went in to capture him. However, Jolt went into action too soon, spooking Reverb and causing him to divert from his route. He successfully avoided the Autobot, only to get rammed head-on by Bumblebee. Culture Shock

Later, he was one of Bludgeon's fellow prisoners that escaped to form a splinter cell... or so Bludgeon intended Inside Out! except Reverb wouldn't sign up, viewing himself as a lone rider. He went off on his own, only to get recaptured (much to his dismay) by Blazemaster in Cairo. Turn and Burn

As part of Strike Team Ursa, Reverb (alongside Dirt Boss and Brakedown) was dispatched to Wendover, Utah by Soundwave to investigate the mysterious organization that had resurrected Ravage. They discovered a hidden base beneath a garbage dump, but fled after they accidentally activated its self-destruct mechanism. While fleeing, they were intercepted by the Autobots Ironhide and Sideswipe. When Dirt Boss asked the team if they should fight or flee, Reverb went with the former; he was subsequently rammed and destroyed by Ironhide. Good job, Reverb. Nefarious #2

Reverb's face is toast.

At some point, Reverb killed the Autobot Tailgate. When the Decepticons got wind of a cache of weapons left over from the war against The Fallen, Reverb was sent to Earth to secure it so the Decepticons could invade. On arrival, he employed one of his specialties—disrupting communications across a wide area. Gears, who had arrived a short time earlier and had come to protect the weapons cache, managed to defeat him and leave him unconscious across a tractor.

He was found there by a NEST team including Bumblebee and Ratchet, and managed to sufficiently convince them he was part of a cell of Decepticon defectors. Telling them that Gears was a Decepticon he was after, Reverb got a free ride to Hawthorne Army Depot, where he was able to get into the weapons cache. Defeating Gears, he loaded up with weapons, including the mysterious cylinder he'd been sent to claim, and engaged the Autobots. Thanks to his personal force field, he had the upper hand even against Optimus Prime. He was stopped dead by the sight of Tailgate—in reality a hologram provided by Gears and Kevin—which enabled Gears to destroy the force field generator. After his defeat, Reverb told Optimus to finish him off, but the Autobot leader instead took him into NEST custody. Switching Gears

Reverb was held at the NEST Rapid Response Base with his weapons jammed. Lindsay was unable to get any useful information out of him. A drone planted by Douglas Porter released Reverb and, once it had provided information about another storehouse and the whereabouts of Gears, Reverb scanned a new jeep alternate mode and headed for Battle Mountain. By the time he arrived at the storehouse, he had been beaten there by Ironhide, Gears and Bumblebee and opted not to face the three Autobots. He later ended up in accommodations with Simon Clay. Battle Mountain

Stuck in an abandoned mine, Reverb had to put up with the yammering of the drone which he dubbed "Loudmouth", and his condescending human masters. He was therefore happy when Doug Porter ordered him to take part in an ambush of a NEST convoy which would include Gears. The ambush went off well, but just when Reverb was about to get hold of the cylinder the convoy was transporting, Porter redirected him to stop the launch of a satellite from the nearby Hyperdynamix Aerospace facility. Spurred on by the news the satellite would broadcast a signal that would kill every Decepticon on Earth, Reverb attacked the facility, but when he accidentally destroyed the control equipment, he was forced to climb on board the rocket itself and was sent into space. He was joined by Gears and Kevin, who had learned the satellite would kill all Cybertronians, and the trio cooperated to successfully disable the satellite. Then Reverb shot Gears in the back. His victory didn't last long, as the crew of the nearby space station HODDIS used their space junk drones to attack him and send him falling Earthward. Ratchet believed he had burned up in the atmosphere though General Marcus ordered a search, just in case. Satellite of Doom

Notes

[edit]
  • Reverb's toy bio shares the same basic personality as the unpublished bio for the canceled toy of the same name from the 2007 movie toyline.
  • Reverb was designed as an homage to Beast Wars Inferno. Aside from the color layouts (especially the head), his tampographs are references: "Calany Racing" is a rather unfortunate misspelling of "Colony Racing" (as in one of Inferno's most common phrases, "Defend the colony!"), plus the "97" refers to Inferno's release year (1997).
  • He also coincidentally resembles the GoBot Dart.
  • Reverb's robot mode in Nefarious is very different from his toy's. Perhaps most notably, it has four arms. Titan Magazines followed the toy design when it was briefly shown.
