| The name or term "Weaponizer" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Weaponizer (disambiguation). |

The Cybertronian Omnifunctional Modular Battlefield Assault Tech System[1]—or the C.O.M.B.A.T. System for short—is a type of modular weapons technology purported to be the most advanced in the universe. Employed by the Transformers in the final days of their conflict on Cybertron, C.O.M.B.A.T. weapons can convert into alternate forms suited for different types of combat or combine to become bigger and stronger.
The system is perhaps most visible in the Weaponizers—sentient Cybertronians who can split apart into weapons for their comrades.

Weapons under the Siege C.O.M.B.A.T. System have multiple 5 mm post hardpoints on them so that they can be combined in various configurations (some official), and can sometimes transform into different weapons. Micromasters, which are bundled in two packs, are able to combine into large weapons as well as transform into their vehicle form. This size class is also used for Soundwave's minions, who can turn into cassettes or be used as a shield with fold-out pegs. "Battle Masters", small Targetmaster-type figures, combine with other weapons and figures. They include additional "Fire Blast" effect pieces that can be placed onto other weapons included with other size classes, as well as hardpoints on the figures themselves to simulate being 'shot' or on the back of vehicles to simulate "rocket boosters" or "speed", depending on the effect part. Each effect part attaches via a 3 mm hole or, in most cases, 5 mm posts. Some Deluxe Class figures are classified as "Deluxe Weaponizers," which can be disassembled into multiple weapons to be used in the C.O.M.B.A.T. System. Most Weaponizers were released in the Siege toyline, with the prominent exception of Slammer who was released two whole modular systems later in Kingdom.
The names of the weapons and their official combinations were located in the instructions as well as promotional material prior to their release.

Legacy
In toylines following Siege, there have always been some sort of successor to this System:
- Earthrise 's A.I.R. Lock System: New Mold Battle Masters now transform into ramps and platforms to connect Deluxe Weaponizers (now named Modulators) to form Micromaster bases, much like the original Micromasters own bases-some of which have become sentient Modulators in this toyline. The Battle Masters also double as shields and the Modulators are also backwards compatible with this System's Weaponizers - one of the modulators was even retooled heavily to make the aforementioned Slammer!
- Kingdom 's F.O.S.S.I.L. Technology: The original character Fossilizers introduced here are basically the same as the Weaponizers. Only difference being they are skeletal. And one mold only has a detachable tail and transforms normally from beast to robot and back as opposed to partforming.
- Legacy: Evolution 's Evo-Fusion: While the first year of Legacy didn't have anything similar to the system, its first subline imprint brought the concept back via a quartet of Junkions who can also be taken apart to gear up Transformers as their Evo-Fusion gimmick-but wait, unlike the previous groups, they don't rely on partsforming to convert between modes. This line even has the first Voyager-sized toy to use the play pattern, Trashmaster.
- Legacy: United 's Armorizers: Succeeding the Junkions, these rocky creatures once again use the slight deviation on the Weaponizer play pattern the Junkions established, normal-transforming figures who can be disassembled to form armor and weapons for figures.
- Age of the Primes: While there is no new overarching play pattern to this line, it includes some Evolution Junkion redecos/retools, along with a few new figures not formally classed as Weaponizers but sharing the play pattern, such as Micronus Prime and Amalgamous Prime.
Notes
- The "W" in the names of some of the Autobot weapons denote that Wheeljack invented them.[2]
