Yutoranta

Yutoranta (ユトランタ) is one of the five major continents on planet Beast. Taking up most of the northern hemisphere, it is the largest contiguous landmass on the planet, and has the largest number of Kingdoms within it.

It is also the resting place of two of the Three Wise Ones' elemental gems, the Fire Gem of Stillness and the Fire Gem of Motion.

Geography

West Yutoranta (西ユトランタ Nishi Yutoranta)

• King: Muskhorn
• Emperor: Pangol

Taking up the entire western peninsula of the continent, West Yutoranta is separated from the northern part of the continent by Bug Bay (バグ湾 Bagu-wan), only sharing a land border with Iriano. Its Emperor Pangol actually hails from the savage Rockland in South Snarl, a rare instance of a Kingdom's ruler coming from another region.

The Fire Gem of Stillness is hidden somewhere in its borders.

North Yutoranta (北ユトランタ Kita Yutoranta)

• King: Polar Battle Bear
• Emperor: Cuttledeep

North Yutoranta takes up most of the northwestern portion of the main landmass. Zemlya (ゼムリア Zemuria) Island sits off the northeastern coast.

East Yutoranta (東ユトランタ Higashi Yutoranta)

• King: Strong Panda
• Emperor: Razorkukku

Natural features include the East Yutoranta Steppe (東ユトランタ草原 Higashi Yuroanta Sōken).

Iriano (イリアノ Iriano)

• King: Dog Hunter
• Emperor: Udan

Iriano takes up the southwestern part of the mainland.

Nupal (ヌパール Nupāru)

• King: Black Jaguar
• Emperor: Crowmax

The only landlocked Kingdom on the continent. Natural features include the Nupal Mountains (ヌパール山岳 Nupāru Sangaku).

Madra (マドラ Madora)

• King: Bullorn
• Emperor: Dark Raccoon

Taking up a part of the southern continent, the southeastern shoreline makes up part of the Tamara Bay (タマラ湾 Tamara-wan).

Tamaraham (タマラハム Tamarahamu)

• King: Power Nozzle
• Emperor: Red Octo

Tamarahan lays in the southern center of the island, and it makes up the majority of the Tamara Bay. Its northern waters can be very icy, but its Emperor Red Octo thrives in such conditions.

Gamborudia (ガンボルジア Ganborujia)

• King: Strong Hippo
• Emperor: Scout Mouse

Located in the southeastern part of the continent, Gamborudia's western shoreline also makes up a part of Tamara Bay.

The Fire Gem of Motion is hidden somewhere within this Kingdom.

Arxan (アルシャン Arushan)

• King: Power Jaguar
• Emperor: Beavop

Arxan takes up the easternmost part of the continent, jutting into the Arxan Sea (アルシャン海 Arushan-kai). The Arxan River (アルシャン川 Arushan-kawa) flows through it.

The seas near West Yutoranta began freezing when when the imbalance between the Three Wise Ones' six elemental gems caused weather patterns on Beast to became abnormal, so it was suspected that the Fire Gem of Stillness lay hidden somewhere in the country. At the same time, Gamborudia became the center of intense heat waves, indicating the Fire Gem of Motion was somewhere within its borders. Beastformers toy pack-in materials

  • Zemlya (Земля́) is a Russian word meaning "land", but the island is likely named after Novaya Zemlya, an island off the Russian coast.
  • Being a seeming analogue to it in Yutoranta, Iriano is likely named after Iran.
  • Nupal is likely named after Nepal.
  • Madra is likely named after either the Madras State or the ancient Madra region.
  • "Tamaraham" is a lost land attested to in Japanese sources as being the mythological origin of the Tamil people. However, those sources are very sparse on the Internet and the name is not found in any known English sources.
  • "Gamborudia" is likely based on "Cambodia".
  • Arxan is named after the city of the same name in China.
