By Nick, for Nick.

Transformers: EarthSpark is an upcoming animated series set to debut in November 2022 in support of the franchise of the same name. First announced on February 25, 2021 alongside Transformers: BotBots, the new series will be co-produced by Entertainment One and Nickelodeon Animation Studio, and it will feature 3D CG animation by Icon Creative Studio. In the United States, the first 10 half-hour episodes of the season will exclusively premiere on Paramount+ on November 11, 2022, with the remaining 14 to be released at a later date; a second season has already been greenlit.

Premise

Many years after the end of the war between the Autobots and Decepticons, young humans Robby and Mo Malto are struggling to adapt after moving from Philadelphia to the small town of Witwicky, Pennsylvania. When they find a strange object in a cave, it grants them mysterious robotic cyber-sleeves and gives life to the Terrans Twitch and Thrash—the first ever Transformers to be born on Earth. Bonded to them through their cyber-sleeves, the Maltos adopt the two robots into their family, while the Autobots reach out to them and offer the Terrans the chance to be mentored by Bumblebee. Now, as new threats arise, the Maltos work together to keep each other safe and find their place in the world while learning what it truly means to be a family.

Characters

(Numbers indicate order of appearance.)

Creative team

The series is executive produced by Ant Ward, Nicole Dubuc, Ciro Nieli and Dale Malinowski. Malinowski is also developing the show alongside Claudia Spinelli and Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt. Other known staff include story editor Mae Catt, storyboard director Jordan Rosato, director JJ Conway, storyboard artist Matthew Humphreys, writer Maasai Singleton, and character designers Nick Roche and Angelo Vilar.

Notes

  • The series was originally planned to premiere on Nickelodeon first, with international releases to follow. At Nickelodeon's upfront in March 2022, a newer announcement clarified that the series would premiere globally on Paramount+ in November 2022.[1] No announcement has been made as to whether the series will later air on Nickelodeon like other Paramount+ series, though it is still planned to air on Nick in several international markets.
