Confronting the two, Megatronus explains that, as Vector Sigma is the current self of the Oracle, a being of Angolmois Energy himself, they took the supercomputer prisoner. Lio Convoy accuses the Fallen of fearing the power that once defeated him, but the democratically elected Prime claims that he will never accept the energy of Unicron the destroyer. Lio Convoy returns to Cybertron, only to find it less than welcoming.

Synopsis

Millennia after the end of humanity's time on Earth, it is the end of the Second Great War on Cybertron as Lio Convoy (in the form of the Legendary Green Lion) and Big Convoy bring an end to Unicron, who has taken on Galvatron's form. Vector Sigma, in gratitude, grants both Lio and Big the title of "Great Convoy", but the latter turns down the honor, preferring to roam the galaxy as a loner.

After Cybertron is rebuilt in the wake of Unicron's rampage, Great Lio Convoy announces to a gathering of Destrons and Cybertrons of the dissolution of the old factions, of the age of Convoys, culminating in the foundation of a new unified faction, the Maximals—led by the Prime Leaders. Magmatron approves of the reorganization, noting that "Prime" was a title from before the Great War that can apply to Cybertron and Destron alike while "Convoy" is an exclusively Cybertron title. After rechristening himself as "Leo Prime", the former Lio Convoy goes forth as Senior Supreme Commander to take on any threat, including the Unicron of another universe.

In this other universe, Go Prime confronts the "interloper", explaining that he has split the timeline as part of an experiment to save it from a "crisis". Leo Prime and L.P. are distracted, however, by the fact that the quantum gate they have used is being used by the Predacons of this world to travel to the G1 World! Returning to his native universe, Leo Prime meets up with Delta Magnus, who handles the Predacon extermination with his Primal Vanguard, and Bluebolt, who has been upgraded into a Transformer in their own right by God Magnus. Leo Prime gets chewed out by the Prime Council for allowing the Predacons to invade their universe, but Megatronus the Fallen Prime lays words of gratitude for Leo Prime, who forgave him for his invasion of Cybertron from his own universe long ago, and grants him amnesty. The Fallen sends Leo Prime on his next mission: to investigate, with the Dimensional Patrol, the Legends World created by the Zamojin. There, Megatronus explains, is an energy they can potentially use to counterbalance Angolmois Energy. Despite Leo Prime's reassurance that little remains of it, the Fallen is insistent—Angolmois Energy created this universe, and those that possess its power are capable of ending this universe, as happened to the previous universe. Thus, another energy to replace it for the G1 World is necessary. Leo Prime acquiesces. After Leo leaves, Quintus Prime and Megatronus set in motion the "Anti-Angolmois Energy Act" to rid the universe of Angolmois Energy.

In the streets of Cybertron, Hellscream and Max-B fall victim to the act, having their Angolmois Energy drained by the Primal Vanguard and reverted to their prior forms. Gigastrom, Dirgegun, and Thrust manage to flee. The Primal Vanguard finds the pure-Angolmois Energy Transformer known as Lio Junior, but Quintus Prime keeps him as is to serve as bait for his father...

In the resurrected Legends World, Leo Prime catches wind of his son's capture and bids farewell to his alternate self and his son. Concluding that the Zamojin's spirit energy will not impede the universe's decay, Leo Prime returns to Gaia with Bluebolt, where he uses the traces of Angolmois Energy there to retake the form of an old friend, once again becoming Lio Convoy, the Legendary Green Lion. Throughout the universe, disasters unfold and the Stunticons take the Nemesis to a black hole to find alternate sources of energy.

Notes

Continuity notes

  • The first three pages retell Unicron's attack on Cybertron at the climax of Beast Wars Neo.
  • Heinrad wearing a cloak might be a callback to his clothing in "Controverse".
  • The bio for MP-48+ Dark Amber Leo Prime revived the concept of "Prime Leaders" (based on a throwaway line of dialogue from Beast Wars) to explain Lio Convoy's switch to the name "Leo Prime" for the Japanese release of Transformers: Prime in line with Hasbro name style.
  • Leo Prime's friendship with Lio Convoy and Lio Junior in the Legends World was depicted in Leo Prime's pack-in Legends chapter. He said goodbye to them in the Legends epilogue.
  • Bluebolt started out as God Magnus's non-living weapon in Car Robots before being given an independent body and mind in End of G1 Universe in advance of receiving a new toy with HasLab Omega Prime.
  • Ope comes from Hydra's self-titled spotlight episode.
  • Lawbhammer was introduced in God Neptune's online tie-in comic for Generations Selects.
  • The Fallen recalls his attack on Cybertron in "Train Wars".
  • The Fallen states that he and the other Primes were elected to their positions of authority, aligning with how the Beast Wars episode "Chain of Command" established that Maximal leaders are democratically elected through secret ballot.
  • The concluding "next time" caption blurb says the events of Velocitron Speedia 500 are next.
