A laser is a ranged weapon used by some Transformers. While lasers come in a wide variety of designs of all shapes and sizes that can produce varying effects (see below) there are also rank-and-file Autobots and Decepticons whose lot in life is to go into battle equipped with nothing but an ordinary, simple laser.

Variety of lasers
[edit]The more standardised laser weapons used by Transformers include:
Lasers with more unique and unusual functions include:
- An electro-laser reverses microcircuit polarity, leaving robots motionless.
- Photon lasers electromagnetize robotic circuits.
- A musket laser shoots hydrochloric acid.
- A decelerator laser inhibits robotic cerebral impulses.
- A maceration laser shoots salty corrosive liquids.
- An oxidating laser fuses a robot's internal mechanisms.
- Slime lasers shoot gooey adhesives.
- Venom lasers cause paralysis.
- A thunderbolt laser pistol presumably shoots bolts of electricity.
- X-ray lasers.
- "Stunner" lasers.
- Some types of lasers shoot direct current electricity.
- Other lasers produce intense wind funnels.
- Tethers which propel space elevators up into orbit.
Notes
[edit]- In real life, a laser produces a tightly focused beam of light. Transformers seem to use the word "laser" as a synonym for "high-tech gun".
