TheStrongestBad is a human and Transformers fan from the TFWiki portion of the Real Life continuity family.

I'm TheStrongestBad (he/him) (July 26, 1994 - ), a Filipino-American guy who has had a healthy diet of Japanese robot anime and toys since childhood, so naturally, Transformers was right up my alley.

I'm also known on most other sites as PutYaGunsOn ("Guns" for short), and am active on the TFWiki Discord Server.

I also know a lot of words in the Japanese language and can read it on a kindergarten, maybe first grade level. But I'm no fluent speaker as of now.

History with Transformers

I had a couple of Machine Wars toys as a kid, I don't remember getting them, I was probably too young to remember. The first toy I actually remember getting was Rapid Run, which I credit for kickstarting my shift from toy trains to action figures. I eventually got more Robots in Disguise toys, completing both Omega Prime and Rail Racer.

From there, I started watching the RID anime on Fox Kids.

At the same time, I learned of the existence of the Generation 1 cartoon from my parents, who would have been teenagers when it originally aired. They eventually got me the full first season on DVD box set as a gift.I distinctly remember my dad misidentifying Megatron's infamous Walther P38 altmode as a German Lugger (sic).

I was a proud owner of the Bumblebee and Cliffjumper keychains and the Commemorative Series Optimus Prime.

Naturally, I became an Armada fan and collector, finally having a Transformers show that my friends at school also watched.

I lost interest shortly after Energon came out, even though I was excited when it aired due to it being a sequel to my beloved Armada.

Renaissance and discovering this very wiki

In 2007, I regained interest in the brand when a certain movie with an end credits song by my childhood favorite nu metal band came out. I discovered this very wiki that same year, learning of the existence of the Japanese G1 continuity and diving into a major rabbit hole. I have been an on-and-off fan and collector since.

Renaissance 2: Energon Boogaloo

I fell out of Transformers in 2010 or so while in high school due to focusing on my very first relationship. She was a nerd too and went to anime conventions with me and everything, but I just lost interest in collecting then.

I got back into it when I got back into toy collecting in general in 2017 and saw a cool Hot Rod toy with a Headmaster. It blew my mind and I got back in.

Personal Canons

I love making personal canons. Despite my current hangups with the universal stream categorization system, I get a kick out of the idea that [Dimension Traveler X] who showed up in [Big name comic issue Y] was actually from [obscure one-off children's picture book from the 80s] all along, and embrace the crap out of it.

G1 Cartoon Canon

G1 era

My main G1 continuity has the first three seasons and the movie as undisputed canon, and follows the American timeline, with Season 1 taking place in 1984, Season 2 in 1985, the movie in 2005, and Season 3 in 2006 (not 2010). It also may use some elements of the Marvel Comics continuity to fill in blanks or expand the world, but in any event where the cartoon and comics contradict each other, the cartoon overrides the comic.

Any characters, factions, and subgroups who originated in American media have their American names (Optimus Prime and Optimus Primal, not Convoy), and any that originated in Japanese media have their Japanese names (Lio Convoy, not Leo Prime until the Prime Leaders take over).

From there, the canon generally follows something resembling the Japanese Generation 1 cartoon continuity, but with some broader strokes here and there. It also accepts Car Robots as being of the G1 timeline, with every character keeping their Japanese names and not being new incarnations of previous characters. The "Decepticons" are called Combatrons.

As for how I make this mine, this version of the canon also incorporates a version of Hot Shot's Henkei! Henkei! origin story into it, and also fully accepts the idea that he could be the same one from Armada.

Beast Era

I'll get to watching Beast Wars eventually. I'll also be watching the Japanese series and reading the IDW comics, which I know use the same characters but put them in totally different situations. I'll eventually decide how the Beast Era goes.

Fanon Discontinuity

The personal canon wiki page mentions "discarding one or two distasteful properties from an otherwise accepted continuity." Take a wild guess which JG1 property got the axe for my personal version. This is also why I repositioned Season 3 to 2006 instead of 2010, so that it just can't happen period. It also ignores the events of the Wings Universe comics, because I don't particularly like the idea or even implication that Ultra Magnus was originally Dion.

New Shell Game Canon

A universe that includes and adds to the events of the Robots in Disguise anime, while slightly reinterpreting the events of Shell Game that removes the crossover elements.

The Optimus Prime of this universe was known to be friends with the Optimus Prime of another universe.

New Shell Game

After Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus defeated Galvatron as the combined form Omega Prime, the Predacons and Decepticons were taken over by a new leader, Megazarak.

Many Autobots, including Optimus himself, would seemingly fall to the might of Megazarak and his lieutenant Toxitron, who was made from the remains of Scourge. Ultimately, only Hot Spot of the Protection team, and Ultra Trion, were left. The Matrix of Leadership would grant Hot Spot a new form with armor giving him the abilities of his fallen comrades, turning him into Defensor.

Defensor was able to rescue Optimus Prime, finding him still alive but injured. His old body damaged beyond repair, the Matrix granted Optimus Prime was given a new tanker truck-based body which ironically used the schematics of his evil copy, Scourge. In his new, sleeker, and more energy-efficient form, Laser Optimus Prime set out to defeat Megazarak.

"Megazarak must be stopped, no matter the cost."

In order to bolster their forces, Optimus Prime and Defensor found a group of Predacon protoforms and took a page from Megatron's book. They gave these protoforms new life as Maximals, who would fight for the Autobot cause with their beast modes.

In a final battle, Optimus Prime and Defensor lead a combined force of Autobots and Maximals to take down Megazarak's evil forces. Soon, Sky-Byte and an army of surviving Predacons and Decepticons would assist the Autobots and Maximals. With a final swing of his mighty laser sword as it drew power from the Matrix, Optimus Prime defeated Megazarak.

Optimus Prime would then use the combined power of Vector Sigma and the Matrix to give new life to Cybertron and its people.

Childhood Armada Canon

An ill-defined universe that is haphazardly made up of elements of the Armada anime, pack-in comics, and video game, along with my childhood play with my toys.

Story beats from the anime occur, such as meeting the kids, Hot Shot being the first to wield the Star Saber, Starscream becoming a good guy and making a big heroic sacrifice, etc. but Decepticlones also exist. The final battle is sort of a mix of the anime and the game, where Optimus Prime and Galvatron have their epic final duel on Unicron's surface after Hot Shot flies around on the Vanguard Booster and Nemesis Shield and uses the Matrix Cannon to defeat Unicron himself.

But the truth is that while Starscream was blasted by Unicron, he was saved by some otherworldly being and teleported to some other world to go do some good guy stuff. Meanwhile, Hot Shot may or may not have ended up in another universe shortly after defeating Unicron.

The Optimus Prime of this universe was known to be friends with the Optimus Prime of another universe.

I like to think that instead of Energon, Super Cross happens as a sequel instead, though incorporating elements of Energon in it like the Terrorcons, Omnicons, Energon stars, and a version of Rodimus Prime.

Prime Wars Trilogy Canon

While I do agree that the Prime Wars Trilogy cartoon was not good, I enjoyed Power of the Primes and legitimately liked the ending. Plus, Hot Rod deserved better, so why not take it into my own hands?

This canon encompasses the following:
