Combiners are groups of Transformers that assemble and combine their bodies into a single machine. This is most often in the form of a larger Super Robot with its own unique personality (a character in its own right), but other varieties of Combiners exist, forming vehicles, weapons, or other items.

Super Robots are often referred to as gestalts by the Transformers fanbase. The term has never been used in official product by Hasbro, except for during the preproduction stages of the Energon combiners.
