Cyberverse is the current encompassing name for the "micro play" play pattern starting with the Dark of the Moon. It replaces the Legends Class (the size class has been absorbed into Cyberverse under the new name "Legion Class") and, to a lesser extent, the Scout Class (replaced by the slightly smaller Cyberverse Commander Class). The Cyberverse toys are in something close to relative scale with each other (though there's still scale problems such as Bumblebee, a Chevrolet Camaro, and Starscream, an F-22 Raptor, being the same size). Cyberverse figures are designed to interact with various transforming battle vehicles and playsets, creating a unified "world" children (or childish adults) can collect. While most are brand new sculpts, some figures are retools/redecos of Legends Class releases from previous lines, but the vast majority are tooled to accommodate 3mm weapon pegs and/or C joints. The entire gimmick of a small, compatible toy line with transformable, connectible bases seems to call back to the old Micromaster play pattern.

The Cyberverse play pattern continued with Transformers: Prime toys.

Despite being solicited through online retailers and the Hasbro website as "Bolt Bumblebee", the American packaging for the 011 Cyberverse figure and early shipments of the European version do not feature a prefix; it is simply "Bumblebee". A running change adds the "Bolt" prefix for later shipments of the European version.

Wave 3

Despite being solicited through online retailers and the Hasbro website as "Stealth Bumblebee", the American packaging for the 015 Cyberverse figure initially did not feature a prefix; it simply called the toy "Bumblebee". The European packaging does still call him "Stealth Bumblebee", however, and a running change later added the prefix for the American packaging as well.

Series 2

The Cyberverse subline took an unusual turn with Series 2. Although focused on supporting the Prime series, certain toys in Series 2 represent characters from the live-action film franchise, and these releases do not include the "Prime" title branding on their packages.

Commander Class

Commander class figures all come with translucent weaponry, and feature some amount of translucent plastic in their bodies (blue for Autobots, but a variety of colors for Decepticons), a feature designed around interacting with the line's vehicles (see below). Each vehicle is equipped with an "Energon Booster", a light-up accessory that can plug into the Commanders' weapons or into the posts and ports on the figures' backs to illuminate them with glowing energon power.

Notes

  • The working name for this line was "Megaverse" (with the MechTech line originally having been "Cybertech"), which could be seen on receipts for Dark of the Moon toys purchased at retailers, in the name of some exclusives on retailer web sites, and on the shipping cases for the products themselves. The reason for the change is unknown.
