Sector Seven game

[edit]

The casting of Hugo Weaving as Megatron was "revealed" through the SectorSeven.org website. In truth, this was part of an elaborate cover-up, involving Sector Seven and their many agents, to hide the truth about the "Megaman" from the general public. Sector Seven (game)

Autobot campaign

[edit]

Megatron crashed on Earth when trying to find the AllSpark. When Archibald Witwicky found the Decepticon warlord, he partially activated Megatron who inscribed his navigational data on the human's glasses. Both Megatron and the AllSpark were eventually found by Sector Seven and held within the same room in the Hoover Dam, its concrete construction masking both their energy signatures. In the year 2007, Megatron was rediscovered when the Autobot scout Bumblebee was brought to Sector Seven. When Bumblebee disabled the defences around the AllSpark, he also began thawing Megatron who opened fire on the Autobot. With Megatron's lower half still frozen however, Bumblebee managed to abscond with the AllSpark, Megatron not breaking out until Starscream and Blackout arrived to shut off all power to the structure.

Retaking command, Megatron sent his forces ahead to Mission City. After they had fallen to the Autobots, Megatron arrived and shot Bumblebee before pursuing Sam Witwicky for the AllSpark. Before he could claim the cube though, Optimus Prime arrived and engaged Megatron in battle. After Prime believed that he had destroyed Megatron, Sam handed the AllSpark to the Autobot leader, only for Megatron to reactivate and jump into the air with his flail, making one last attempt at nailing Prime. Instead, Optimus caught the flail in its path and yanked Megatron towards him, shoving the AllSpark into the Decepticon's spark chamber, overloading him and ending the tyrant. Transformers The Game

Decepticon campaign

[edit]
Megatron considers a new career after his awakening.

After Megatron landed on Earth and was discovered by Sector Seven, his biology was reverse-engineered to produce a line of jet planes based off his alternate mode. When the Decepticons later arrived, they found the trail that Megatron had left to him and the AllSpark, Barricade eventually decoding their master's hiding place. Though the Decepticons arrived at the Hoover Dam too late to claim the AllSpark, Starscream and Blackout managed to free Megatron.

Retaking command, Megatron sent his forces ahead to Mission City but when they failed to retrieve the AllSpark, Megatron personally intervened. With the other Autobots destroyed, Megatron rained destruction on the city to force out Optimus Prime and the AllSpark. Though Optimus tried to retreat when found, Megatron ultimately triumphed in battle, killing the Prime. With his archenemy defeated, Megatron claimed the AllSpark and safely absorbed it into his being. After decimating Earth, Megatron took the Lincoln Memorial as his throne, then ordered Starscream, Brawl, and Barricade to finish what was left of humanity, before going on to conquer the galaxy. [edit]

Thousands of years ago, Megatron took off after the AllSpark when it emerged from the ruined Cybertron. With him, Megatron brought hundreds of drones, scattering them across Earth to aid in his search. When Megatron fell into stasis, the drones followed suit, awaiting their master's call. The humans who eventually found Megatron dubbed him as "Project: Ice Man".

When the Decepticons came to Earth, they discovered Project: Ice Man, even briefly reactivating the drones under Shockwave, before they found Megatron himself. After Barricade had freed him, Megatron blasted off to make use of Hoover Dam's generators to recharge himself, being protected by Starscream as he did so. Once back to full power, Megatron was informed that the Autobots had stolen the AllSpark while he wasn't looking. Furious, Megatron blasted after Bumblebee, landing atop and killing him, absorbing the AllSpark into himself. The assimilation process not being instantaneous however, Megatron was still vulnerable to physical damage, Optimus Prime managing to best him in battle, the AllSpark separating itself from the Decepticon leader. When Sam Witwicky plucked it, Megatron tried to reclaim the cube only for the human to shove the AllSpark directly into Megatron's spark, overloading him. In Megatron's absence, Shockwave and Starscream began a Decepticon civil war for his throne. Transformers The Game (PSP)

Transformers: Autobots

[edit]

Having landed on Earth some thousands of years ago, Megatron was thought to be frozen somewhere in the Arctic. As the Autobots looked for clues as to his location, they eventually arrived in the frozen desert long enough to realize the humans had found him, as well as the AllSpark. Once they hacked into the communications array at the base, they found documentation leading to the Hoover Dam, where the Autobots and Decepticons raced. Some wishing to free him, most hoping to destroy him, the Transformers fought over the base until the Decepticon leader was finally freed. Once out of cryo-storage, Megatron proceeded to steal the AllSpark from the Autobots leading to a final confrontation with Optimus Prime and Create-A-Bot. Creating Allspark drones to kill Prime, Megatron fought Create-A-Bot, who knocked the Allspark out of Megatron's hands and hit Megatron, weakening him so he could be stopped by Prime. After dismissing Create-A-Bot's efforts, Megatron fought a final duel with Optimus, which Optimus won. Pleading for his life, Megatron insisted destroying him, would destroy the Allspark as well, but Optimus decided that was a worthy sacrifice if it stopped Megatron, and killed him. In the distant past, Megatron pursued the AllSpark. Upon crash landing on Earth, he relayed a faint signal, which the Decepticons received. Years later, discovering Megatron frozen in the Hoover Dam, the Decepticons fought to free their leader. However, as was quickly made apparent, Starscream and his young protege, a Create-A-Bot, sought to eliminate their leader. This quickly changed, as Create-A-Bot was convinced by Barricade to free their commander, as Starscream was a back-stabbing bureaucrat while Megatron was a truly zealous leader. Even though both would kill you in an instant, Megatron would at least do it to your face so you could see it coming.

Once free, Megatron was briefed on Starscream's coup and was given back his weapon chip by Blackout. He then gave a rallying speech, only to learn that the Autobots had stolen the AllSpark. Barricade revealed the Decepticons had planted bombs along the dam to distract the Autobots while they recovered the AllSpark, which Megatron accepted before ushering his troops to Tranquility. Before he could leave to join them, Megatron was ambushed by Jazz, who had been left at the bridge to ruin the bombing run and stop the Decepticon leader. Jazz put up a prolonged fight, but eventually Megatron smashed Jazz into the dirt. Arriving in Tranquility, Megatron ordered an all-out assault on the city against Autobot, human, and Starscream alike. He chased after Starscream even as his troops began to be picked off, only to be blocked by Optimus Prime. Megatron mocked Optimus, noting he had bigger fish to fry, but Optimus resolutely stood in his way. Once the sibling rivalry was finished, Megatron gloated over his victory, only to be struck by a sneak attack from the AllSpark-powered Starscream, who had been lying in wait for Megatron to do some of the hard work for him. Starscream issued a proper challenge for leadership of the Decepticons before leaving. Megatron by this point was left with Create-A-Bot as his last surviving soldier, who assured him he would follow him to victory.

Arriving in the Casino Strip after Create-A-Bot, Megatron found him damaged and Starscream flying away. Giving chase, he attacked his traitorous second-in-command, and after a lengthy battle, triumphed despite his awesome AllSpark driven powers. Megatron scolded his former lieutenant for not simply betraying him, but failing to pull it off in the end. Starscream used his last breath to insult Megatron, swearing that there would always be a challenger to his rule. Megatron considered this, and replied that they'd all share Starscream's fate before finally terminating him. Returning to Create-A-Bot's side, Megatron took a moment to call him a weakling and a failure, completely forgetting about the fact that Create-A-Bot had saved him, led him to Starscream, destroyed the Autobots, and served him more loyally than most of his other followers. Taking a moment to let this sink in, Megatron went on to tell him that the weak are made to serve the strong, then ripped the young Decepticon apart and ate his Spark. His plans for domination ruined, his troops and the AllSpark destroyed, Megatron then took off into the sky with intentions unknown. Transformers: Decepticons

I...am...Galva—oh, wait, I'm still Megatron.

Megatron was the Decepticons' well-rounded fighter. He was armed with a rapid-firing lightning gun and a dark matter beam. His special ability fired his fusion arm cannon, which would deal heavy damage to any targeted enemy.

After NSA Director Theodore Galloway was captured and made an unwitting puppet for the Decepticons, he revealed the location of the last AllSpark shard and Megatron's final resting place. After the shard was retrieved by Ravage the Decepticons launched a full-scale assault on the US Navy fleet assigned to watch over Megatron. While Starscream, and his drone army kept the Autobots and humans busy, the Constructicons used the shard to revive Megatron, who rose from the ocean like an angel of death, before flying off into space. Back on the wreck of the Decepticon starship Nemesis, Megatron very blandly told Starscream off for abandoning him on Earth, but otherwise didn't seem to be terribly irritated.

Speaking with The Fallen, Megatron believed he had failed, but The Fallen said that the knowledge within the AllSpark was placed within Sam Witwicky's mind. With it, they could find another means of creating Energon. Eager for revenge, Megatron assigned Grindor the mission of capturing the human boy who brought him low for interrogation. Though Megatron managed to retrieve the information he required from the boy, he was prevented from killing the fleshling due to the intervention of the Autobots. Soon after, Megatron faced Optimus Prime in not-quite one-on-one combat in a major United States East Coast city. Though Optimus was supported by numerous Protectobot drones Megatron seemingly defeated his enemy once and for all.

After the destruction of the human superweapon known as the Axiom Gun in Cairo, Megatron journeyed to the Great Pyramid of Giza to witness The Fallen activate the Star Harvester. However, Optimus Prime arrived informing Megatron that The Fallen's promise was false, and that he had no way of making Megatron a Prime, as they were born, not made. Enraged of this betrayal by his master, Megatron fought through numerous drones and shrugged off telekinetic attacks to impale The Fallen through the head with his sword, an act which also ironically saved Earth's solar system.

After the defeat of The Fallen, Megatron returned to the Nemesis, unleashing his dormant army of Decepticons. Revenge of the Fallen (Xbox 360/PS3/PC)

Autobot campaign

[edit]

Though Breakaway managed to save most of the North Atlantic fleet from the Decepticon assault, Megatron was reactivated and escaped from his watery grave.

Much later, Optimus Prime journeyed to Egypt to find Sam Witwicky and the ancient seeker Jetfire. Unfortunately, both Megatron and Starscream turned up, intent on preventing the Autobots from interfering with The Fallen's plans. While Jetfire dueled with Starscream, Megatron once again engaged with his old foe. Megatron fell in defeat. In spiteful vengeance, Megatron impaled Jetfire through the back before escaping with Starscream.

After the death of The Fallen and the destruction of the star harvester, Ratchet informed the Autobots that his telemetry indicated that Megatron was aboard a Decepticon transport in a distant galaxy. Revenge of the Fallen (Xbox 360/PS3/PC)

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Autobots/Decepticons

[edit]

Three years after the Autobots defeated Megatron, his body was transferred to the Atlantic. The Fallen sent the Decepticons Grindor, Starscream, and their new recruit to revive Megatron. Megatron emerged anew, and once again became leader and servant of The Fallen. Megatron would often send the new recruit to locations in search of the Matrix or to destroy the Autobots. Megatron and Starscream would often verbally come to blows resulting in warnings of the consequences of failing The Fallen.

At some point after his resurrection, in the U.S. Megatron was successful at destroying a secret military base and in Arabia, Megatron executed five Autobots before they could alert the Decepticons plans to Prime. Megatron and Soundwave deduced heavy Autobot resistance in New York City was a possible clue to the Matrix's whereabouts. Grindor wanted a mission to waste some Autobot grunts, but Megatron declared he had "other work" for the trigger-happy warrior and sent their recruit who learned of the location of the Matrix from the turncoat Jetfire.

In Egypt, Megatron sent the Constructicons to unearth the Harvester to power up the up Matrix. He and Starscream witnessed the recruit successfully bring the Matrix of Leadership to The Fallen, who praised the cadet for his service and his honor-bound code. Starscream taunted Megatron that he should be worried about his position as a leader, causing Megatron to once again snap at Starscream to be silent or he would shut him up permanently. However, Starscream's words came true as the recruit bravely fought through heavy Autobot forces and finally felled Optimus Prime, all on his own. This made Megatron hysterical, as he shouted to them that he was the only Decepticon to defeat Optimus. The Fallen considered this a disgrace as he couldn't have the general of his army being outmatched by a mere foot soldier. As a reward for his service, The Fallen promoted the recruit to Decepticon leader, replacing Megatron as his apprentice, much to Megatron's horror. Starscream laughed at his former leader and insisted that he deserved what he got. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen: Autobots/Decepticons

AllSpark Wars

[edit]

Despite Agoraptor's efforts, the Autobots were able to decipher a critical Decepticon message—revealing the location of Megatron—before the Decepticons could. This led to an unexpectedly overwhelming Autobot victory, capturing enough AllSpark fragments to revive Optimus Prime in America, and eventually the war ended with the Decepticons defeated and forced to flee the Earth. Revenge of the Fallen (mobile game)

[edit]

As part of the plan to reactivate the "Great Machine", The Fallen resurrected Megatron using an AllSpark fragment retrieved from Shanghai by Starscream. Megatron contacted Starscream, calling him back to base, so they could enact the next part of the plan. The Fallen instructed him to take the troops to Egypt to find the Matrix of Leadership, though Megatron didn't think it was a good idea. In Egypt, he found Bumblebee had defeated Devastator, so he took the Autobot and the NEST personnel present as hostages and took possession of the Matrix. Optimus Prime arrived, but Megatron pointed out he was no match for the powered-up Decepticon leader. Optimus agreed, and combining Jetfire's parts with his own, soundly defeated Megatron. At that point The Fallen arrived, and Megatron was able to escape while Optimus Prime was otherwise occupied. Back at base, Megatron promised that now he was in total command of the Decepticons, the Autobots days were numbered. Revenge of the Fallen (Glu)

Three years after the battle at the pyramids, Megatron had retreated to a Decepticon base in an unknown missile silo, along with some hatchlings which he stored among the silo's corridors. From there, he commanded Decepticon forces to attack key junctions in the UN's information network in order to provide a cover for reviving their ally in Russia. The Decepticons were able to hide themselves from the Autobots for quite some time. He secretly listened in to Autobot transmissions thanks to his Communications Officer Soundwave.

He needs this like he needs a hole in the hea-oh, wait.

Due to the scout Bumblebee's downloading of a virus in Soundwave's system, Megatron's communications were slightly crippled. This did not stop his plans however. Starscream was able to launch a device to the moon. Commanding Soundwave to land on Earth, he entrusted him to finding and destroying a former Sector 7 base which had vital information concerning their frozen Russian ally, along with their moon operation. Soundwave (along with his partner Laserbeak) succeeded in destroying the base.

Now it's time for us to dance, Optimus! Just follow my lead. First step, retract that blade.

He then ordered Starscream to destroy a shipment of MechTech weaponry by the humans, led by Stratosphere. Starscream destroyed the large Autobot, but not before grabbing a piece of MechTech. When Starscream returned with this weaponry, Megatron angrily chided his lieutenant and destroyed the weaponry, knowing all too well that the Autobots may have planted a tracking beacon in their weapons. He prepared to drain Starscream's spark as punishment, but was interrupted by Soundwave, who announced they are under attack.

Megatron easily dispatched of the Autobots invading his base, with many of his fellow Decepticon soldiers falling in battle. He later encountered Warpath, though that battle was not much of a stretch. He absorbed chunks of plutonium from the (partly) launching missiles he found, gaining more energy along the way and getting enough power to summon hatchlings from their eggs. He soon was able to scan a new vehicle form, and assumed it to traverse through the tunnels of the silo more efficiently.

Even though I have you near the verge of death, I'm just gonna let you live.

Soon enough, he encountered Optimus Prime himself, who appeared with a new trailer and a jetpack upgrade. Even with these upgrades, however, he was unable to defeat the Decepticon leader, who thrust him into an icy chamber to freeze. He then jumpstarted the thawing process to revive his Decepticon assassin, Shockwave. Megatron then retreated from the burning base and to somewhere in Nambia, Africa. Regrouping with Soundwave, Starscream, and Shockwave, he ordered his assassin to find a nuclear power plant in Chernobyl, and then announced that his plans were far from crippled....and that Operation: Pillar was unstoppable. Autobots/Decepticons

[edit]

Megatron had two plans in progress, Operation: Pillar and the revival of the Decepticon assassin Shockwave. Starscream relayed his orders to his troops in the field, for the most part, while Megatron hung out at the Decepticon base in Siberia. When the base was located by the Autobots, they planted radar emplacements around which broadcast a jamming signal, and Megatron was forced to contact Soundwave to get them deactivated. The Autobots succeeded in infiltrating the base, and Megatron was forced to accelerate his plans, fighting his way through the Autobot hordes to reach Shockwave. After defeating Ironhide and Optimus Prime, he managed to get Shockwave out and instructed the other Decepticons to withdraw, as they had what they needed. Dark of the Moon: Autobots/Decepticons

Transformers: Shadows Rising

[edit]

Inside the Mothership, Optimus was on the verge of being killed by Nemesis Prime when Megatron blasted him from above. Optimus questioned how he was here since he had finished him off the last time they met. Megatron told him that his brain was still intact, and that he had used KSI's resources to make himself a new body when they tried to analyze his corpse. They start fighting, and with some help from Bumblebee, Sideswipe, Jay, and Vanessa, Megatron is launched out into space, screaming that he will be reborn before dying. Transformers: Shadows Rising

Notes

[edit]
  • Megatron possibly has the cheatiest transformation animation of all characters in the console version of the first game, with his entire torso vanishing for a few frames while his legs just shrink into his undercarriage.
