Skywarp is a petty, immature prankster. And as luck would have it, he's a petty, immature prankster with good aim and the ability to warp place to place as he pleases. He uses his warping power as a toy and a tool for thuggery and practical jokes, on not just Autobots, but even his own Decepticon Air Corps. However, he is also a dangerous combatant versed in an array of martial techniques. Proud of his excellent aim, Skywarp has named himself Bull's-eye in the Sky.

During his search for Earth's Ancient Decepticons and Cyber Planet Key, Starscream feared that Skywarp's stupidity might mess up his plans. In order to keep his bungling cousin out of his face, Starscream presented him with a nonsensical mission of no real importance: making it seem like an "old-fashioned" alien invasion of Earth was underway. He has a flip-out energon blade in his right arm, but as the original toy was a small-scale representation of Supreme Starscream, he features a flip-out null ray cannon in his left arm instead of another blade. It also included a Cyber Key, which activated no features on the toy itself, but included the code "sc5t". The key is black with a red Autobot symbol. This is the only Legends toy to have one. It was explained by Hasbro employees that the key and figure were separate promotional items simply bagged together, and the Skywarp was indeed a Decepticon. This toy was listed as a Universe toy on the Hasbro web site.

The name or term "Skywarp" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Skywarp (disambiguation).
Skywarp is a Decepticon from the Unicron Trilogy continuity family.
Did people complain because I had new tooling to make me not look exactly like Starscream? You betcha they did!

Skywarp, being rather dim, requires the constant supervision of his cousin, Starscream, whom Skywarp despises. Skywarp is just smart enough to notice others' claims of nepotism. Some day, he hopes, he can make a name for himself, free from the influence of his famous relative.[1]

Skywarp is a retool and redeco of Armada Starscream, transforming into a Cybertronian fighter jet with an all-new head, cockpit laser cannons, wing turbines and a new Mini-Con partner, Thunderclash. Pulling back and releasing his rearmost Mini-Con port activates a take-off sound effect, while holding it follows up the sound with an extended engine roar that lasts a few seconds. Placing a Mini-Con on the port releases two spring-activated over-shoulder spring-loaded missile launchers, and pulling back on the port with a Mini-Con attached triggers a laser-firing noise that lasts just long enough to be too long. Skywarp's left wing detaches and unfolds to form a large sword for use in robot mode.
Skywarp and Thunderclash were not part of Takara's normal retail Legends of the Microns line, but were released in Japan as a Toys"R"Us-exclusive "USA Edition" toy, in Hasbro packaging with Japanese stickers to relay important legal information.
This mold was also redecoed to make Universe Ramjet.

Cybertron

[edit]
My Cyber Key does nothing!!
 • Skywarp (Legends Class, 2005)
 • Accessories: Cybertron Autobot Cyber Key
 • Cyber Key Code: sc5t
Available as an exclusive giveaway at Hasbro's booth for the San Diego Comic-Con 2005, the first Cybertron Skywarp toy is a redeco of Legends of Cybertron Starscream in a traditional black/purple/silver Skywarp color scheme. He has a flip-out energon blade in his right arm, but as the original toy was a small-scale representation of Supreme Starscream, he features a flip-out null ray cannon in his left arm instead of another blade.
Unique to Legends-class toys, he also included a clear-black Autobot Cybertron-style Cyber Key, which activates no features on the toy itself, but does included a Cyber Key Code. It was explained by Hasbro employees that the Key and figure were separate promotional items simply bagged together, and that Skywarp was indeed a Decepticon. This figure was listed as a Universe toy on the Hasbro web site for some reason.
This mold was also used the make Cybertron Ramjet and Sunstorm, Universe Ramjet and Thrust, War for Cybertron Starscream, and Dark of the Moon Cybertronian Starscream.

The gun arm makes it harder to push people down stairs.
 • Skywarp (Deluxe Class, 2006)
 • Accessories: Missile, Earth Cyber Key
 • Cyber Key Code: d02r
 • Known designers: Joe Kyde (deco artist)
Sold in the seventh wave of Cybertron Deluxes, this version of Skywarp is a redeco of Cybertron Thundercracker, transforming into a Sukhoi Su-37 fighter jet. Inserting a Cyber Key into the access slot at the rear of the jet mode opens up a panel to reveal a spring-loaded projectile launcher. This assembly becomes an incredibly long blaster in place of his left forearm.
This mold was also used to make the live-action movie toyline Divebomb.

Timelines

[edit]
 • Skywarp (Deluxe Class, 2016)
 • Accessories: 2 missiles, 2 "Parahytherion blades"
Sold exclusively through the Fun Publications Transformers Collectors' Club online store, Timelines Skywarp is a retool of Generations Armada Starscream with a new head based on the Armada Skywarp toy. He comes with two "Parahytherion blades" which he holds via 5 mm post, and can fold up and store on his wings, as opposed to the wings themselves detaching and forming swords. He has numerous Powerlinx plugs on his forearms and turbines, though they do not activate any features. In place of his spring-loaded cannons, his turbines can each fire a missile in either mode via pressure-launch, and can be positioned in robot mode to either face forward or lay flat on his back. He also has the Matrix of Conquest moulded into the back of his head.
This version of the mold was also used to make Timelines Ramjet.

Attacktix

His mother calls him a unique little snowflake. Or would if he wasn't a robot.
 • Starter Set (2007)

ID number: TF2-21
Rarity:
Faction: Decepticon
Class: Warrior
Special: Infiltrate - 8/26 (31%) success ratio
Point Cost: 30
Base Speed: 6
Attack Type: Shooter (Large missile)

This piece was available only in the second Transformers Attacktix four-piece Starter Set (along with Generation 1's Optimus Prime and Megatron plus Energon Landquake). Skywarp is a redeco of the Attacktix robot-mode Starscream piece, based on Skywarp's Legends toy.
Skywarp's Infiltrate Special Power allows him to return to play in your opponent's starting area if you have a Captain-class figure in play. Skywarp's Special Power plays on the character's traditional portrayal, allowing him to teleport behind enemy lines only if he has someone of a higher rank to tell him what to do.
As with the Legends toy, it is entirely possible (if unlikely) that this toy represents some other Skywarp.

Notes

[edit]
 • Skywarp's Armada and Cybertron bios were written as if they were two completely different characters with little in common. The Armada bio was not likely referenced in writing the Cybertron bio.
 • Randy Para wrote the profile card for Skywarp's Timelines toy so that it could fit both Unicron Trilogy and Generation 1 Skywarp, similarly to how the Generations Armada Starscream toy was repurposed as a body for the IDW 2005 incarnation of Starscream.[3]
 • Energon Energon Starscream was first listed in Walmart computers under the name "Skywarp Interceptor", perhaps indicating an aborted intent for the toy. Before then, designer Aaron Archer had commented that he was unlikely to revisit Thundercracker and Skywarp, likening doing so to beating a horse.[4]
