This is a leftover from the original artwork, where artist Marcelo Matere was under the impression that Glen was a girl. Though Glen was eventually redrawn to be a boy, the Pony remained.
Just bring it, Ja-Brony!

As Maggie Madsen and Glen Whitmann crack the Cybertronian code, a small My Little Pony Minty figure can be seen sitting atop Glen's computer. Transformers: The Movie Storybook

Ask Vector Prime

Vector Prime could not easily travel to Equestria, as its inhabitants are fictional characters in many universal streams, particularly in the Tyran Cluster. Vector Prime recognized the few realities where Cybertronians and Equestrians could briefly meet, such as Primax 613.28 Lambda (where Optimus Prime was vexed by Pinkie Pie). Ask Vector Prime, 2015/05/15 VP later 'misheard' a question about Alicorns as one about Allicons. Lower... Lower...

Megatron, trapped in the core of Earth's sun, attempted to escape by using his black hole manipulation powers to teleport to safety. All this accomplished was shunting his charred body across time and space, where it landed in a world populated by intelligent ponies. A world where "friendship is magic". The War Never Ends

When Worlds Collide

After Megatron and Cobra Commander had stolen the Matrix of Leadership, Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, and Rarity aided the Autobots in retrieving it by firing a Nerf gun at the villains. The ponies later stood ready for the ultimate showdown of good and evil before the two kids imagining the whole scenario were called away for dinner. When Worlds Collide

International Day of Friendship

You're the best friend
That I ever had

On July 30, 2015, Hasbro announced that they had made custom pony versions of "best friends" Optimus Prime and Bumblebee along with :}}Sesame Street| :}}Clueless (film)| :}}I Love Lucy| :}}Laverne & Shirley| in honor of the International Day of Friendship. Both ponies have the Autobot insignia as their cutie marks. These ponies were never released to general retail or as convention exclusives, having been created specifically for this event.

Crossover Collection

Catering to GEEWUNers in two fandoms!
  • My Little Prime (2020)
Part of a series featuring crossovers between MLP and other properties including Ghostbusters, Power Rangers, and Dungeons & Dragons, My Little Prime is a pony representation of Optimus Prime using a mold inspired by Generation 1 of the equine property. Like the International Day of Friendship customs, he has an Autobot insignia as his cutie mark. The figure has no articulation aside from a ball-jointed tail.

Games

The Fabulous Ponymaker

And thus the fandom was presented with a new argument: "Trukk not Pone!"

Available as an online game on Hub Network's website beginning in summer of 2012, The Fabulous Ponymaker allows you to "build your own custom pony" based on the series :}}My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic|. One of the options allows you to build a pony using Movie Optimus Prime-styled parts like a helmet, chestplate and boots. (Despite the presence of :}}The Aquabats|' logo among the cutie marks, there is no Autobot symbol. Sad.)

Notes

  • Various My Little Pony media have made allusions to the Transformers franchise in the past:
    • Optimus Prime made an easter egg appearance in IDW Publishing's My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic #2 as a toy in the possession of a Cave Troll.
    • The transformation noise can be heard in the early minutes of the My Little Pony feature film :}}My Little Pony: Equestria Girls|, as Pinkie Pie unfolds herself in a manner similar to a transformation. The sound was lifted from the G1 cartoon, as the sound of metal feet hitting the ground is heard. The sound can also be heard in the first act of the :}}My Little Pony: The Movie (2017 film)| when Grubber unfolds his loudspeaker.
    • In Volume 2 of My Little Pony: The Manga, Doctor Hooves mentions saving a Cybertronian version of Fluttershy from the Sharkticon pits on Quintessa Prime.
    • In Volume 3 of The Manga, the Matrix of Leadership is one of several items retrieved by Discord during a scavenger hunt organized by Fluttershy (along with a Furby and Cobra Commander's helmet).
  • In an interview, Buzz Dixon claimed that his initial "punch-up" of the script for the original My Little Pony: The Movie would have featured the ponies encountering characters from The Transformers, among other Hasbro franchises.
At one point one of the Little Ponies had to go looking for...something or someone, I forget. I suggested she encounter some of the Transformers and Joes in her search, specifically, a scene where she flies up to Shipwreck who is drinking some amber fluid from a bottle.
Shipwreck would just stare at her in bug-eyed disbelief and she’d fly on, then Shipwreck would smash the bottle, take his cap off his head, put his left hand over his heart and raise his right hand in an oath, muttering frantically under his breath. Hasbro said, "Very funny. No."
I suggested one of the Ponies go look for help against the menace facing them. The first person she would have asked would have been Optimus Prime, the second would have been Shipwreck (who would assume he was suffering from DTs & pour out the beer he was drinking).
Alas, humorless spoilsports cooler heads prevailed and those scenes were never animated…
  • According to Aaron Archer at the BotCon 2008 Hasbro Commentary viewing of the live-action Transformers film, the My Little Pony prop carried by the little girl had to come from the personal collection of a Hasbro employee, as that particular style of figure ceased production prior to the beginning of the movie's filming. She never got it back, as it was later auctioned for charity, and whether she was ever able to replace it is uncertain.
  • For Christmas 2013, Hub Network aired a special My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic video yule log. This hour-long special consisted of music and cameo appearances by several characters or pieces from Hub properties in addition to the ponies themselves. Among the characters who made cameos were Beast Hunters Bumblebee (who beeped as he drove across the screen), Rescue Bots Blades (who stumbled onto the screen before being pulled back off), Strawberry Shortcake, Lil' Bat (mascot for The Aquabats), a Sorry! game piece (from the Hasbro game show Family Game Night), Niblet from Pound Puppies, the eponymous character of SheZow!, and several characters from the Littlest Pet Shop cartoon. This special was aired back-to-back for four hours on Christmas morning, possibly as a means of giving the bulk of the network staff a chance to spend Christmas morning with their families.
