Revision as of 18:39, 7 March 2023

Only the dead can know peace from this evil.

My Little Pony is a girl's toy brand by Hasbro, involving representations of cartoon horses.

Fiction

Live-action film series

Transformers film

Don't go looking for the Tooth Fairy without it!

When a hopeful little girl encountered what she thought was the Tooth Fairy climbing out of her family's swimming pool, she took her My Little Pony Pinkie Pie plushie with her. Transformers (film)

Transformers: The Movie Storybook

Just bring it, Ja-Brony!

Glen Whitmann kept a small My Little Pony Minty figure atop his computer. Transformers: The Movie Storybook

Age of Extinction film

Firearms are Magic.

While trying to evacuate the Seed from Hong Kong, Joshua Joyce called his lab techs to find out the estimated blast radius of the weapon of mass destruction, interrupting them in the middle of a vital experiment—changing a Transformium-made Rainbow Dash doll into a machine gun. Age of Extinction

The Complete AllSpark Almanac

Discord, the Equestrian embodiment of chaos, could be seen as one of the personalities pictured on a menu for Maccadam's Old Oil House. The Complete AllSpark Almanac

In a page from her diary, Sari Sumdac sketched a pony labeled "Rainbow Dark" and a "Poison Apple" cutie mark. The AllSpark Almanac Addendum

Robots in Disguise

While demonstrating a magic trick, Russell wore a sorcerer's outfit modeled after the one worn by Star Swirl the Bearded. Misdirection

During one of his scavenging runs, Kickback looked at the list of objects he'd collected. One of the items was a My Little Pony toy, openly stating how he "Needs It!" Metal Meltdown

TransTech

Megatron threatened to send Bumblebee to the universe of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic fan fiction, much to everyone's horror. Bee in the City 2: Electric Bugaloo

Ask Vector Prime

Vector Prime could not easily travel to Equestria, as its inhabitants are fictional characters in many universal streams, particularly in the Tyran Cluster. Vector Prime recognized the few realities where Cybertronians and Equestrians could briefly meet, such as Primax 613.28 Lambda (where Optimus Prime was vexed by Pinkie Pie). Ask Vector Prime, 2015/05/15 VP later 'misheard' a question about Alicorns as one about Allicons. Ask Vector Prime, 2015/05/25 He also considered Tirac to be one of the most evil creatures he knew of. Ask Vector Prime, 2015/06/12

Known liar Sideways claimed he once drank Discord under the table. Ask Sideways, 2015/07/03

Transformers vs. G.I. Joe

Lower... Lower...

Megatron, trapped in the core of Earth's sun, attempted to escape by using his black hole manipulation powers to teleport to safety. All this accomplished was shunting his charred body across time and space, where it landed in a world populated by intelligent ponies. A world where "friendship is magic". The War Never Ends

When Worlds Collide

After Megatron and Cobra Commander had stolen the Matrix of Leadership, Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, and Rarity aided the Autobots in retrieving it by firing a Nerf gun at the villains. The ponies later stood ready for the ultimate showdown of good and evil before the two kids imagining the whole scenario were called away for dinner. When Worlds Collide

Crossover Collection toy bio

When the Autobots crash landed in Equestria, a mysterious artifact known as the "Matrix of Friendship" reformatted Optimus Prime into a simulacrum of the native life forms. My Little Prime

Commercial appearances

First has Pinkie Pie sharing the spotlight with Megatron and a guy named Dan to sing a cheery song about summertime. The Hub summer promo 2011

Second has Rainbow Dash, apparently studying at Hub High School, as she peeks out of a hole in the wall created by Megatron, who is in detention for anger issues. Hub Detention Hall

Third has Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, and Applejack joining Megatron and Bulkhead in scatting "Deck the Halls". The Hub Carolers

Fourth has these ponies and Transformers sing "Jingle Bells", before an interrupting Joker steals their thunder, much to Pinkie's annoyance. The Hub Carolers (Second spot)

Fifth has Bumblebee joining Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie at a movie theater to watch family-friendly fare. Hub Family Movie

Sixth has Megatron's favorite song being the theme song to My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. Megatron's Favorite Song

Seventh has Megatron, answering fan mail, reply that his favorite thing to do on vacation is journey to the dark side of Pluto so that he can focus on his favorite hobby: Drawing watercolor Rainbow Dash fanart. Ask Megatron: Vacation

Eighth has Megatron, again answering fan mail, reply that his most embarrassing moment was when he cried in front of Soundwave when Twilight Sparkle became a princess. Ask Megatron part 3

IDW crossover cover series

As exclusives to various conventions, IDW Publishing has released a number of covers and lithographs crossing over Transformers and My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic characters.

Notes

Games

The Fabulous Ponymaker

And thus the fandom was presented with a new argument: "Trukk not Pone!"

Available as an online game on Hub Network's website beginning in summer of 2012, The Fabulous Ponymaker allows you to "build your own custom pony" based on the series My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. One of the options allows you to build a pony using Movie Optimus Prime-styled parts like a helmet, chestplate and boots. (Despite the presence of The Aquabats' logo among the cutie marks, there is no Autobot symbol. Sad.)

Toys

International Day of Friendship

You're the best friend
That I ever had
On July 30, 2015, Hasbro announced that they had made custom pony versions of "best friends" Optimus Prime and Bumblebee along with characters from other franchises in honor of the International Day of Friendship. Both ponies have the Autobot insignia as their cutie marks. These ponies were never released to general retail or as convention exclusives, having been created specifically for this event.

Crossover Collection

Catering to GEEWUNers in two fandoms!
  • My Little Prime (2020)
Part of a series featuring crossovers between MLP and other properties including Ghostbusters, Power Rangers, and Dungeons & Dragons, My Little Prime is a pony representation of Optimus Prime using a mold inspired by Generation 1 of the equine property. Like the International Day of Friendship customs, he has an Autobot insignia as his cutie mark. The figure has no articulation aside from a ball-jointed tail.

Notes

At one point one of the Little Ponies had to go looking for...something or someone, I forget. I suggested she encounter some of the Transformers and Joes in her search, specifically, a scene where she flies up to Shipwreck who is drinking some amber fluid from a bottle.
Shipwreck would just stare at her in bug-eyed disbelief and she’d fly on, then Shipwreck would smash the bottle, take his cap off his head, put his left hand over his heart and raise his right hand in an oath, muttering frantically under his breath. Hasbro said, "Very funny. No."
I suggested one of the Ponies go look for help against the menace facing them. The first person she would have asked would have been Optimus Prime, the second would have been Shipwreck (who would assume he was suffering from DTs & pour out the beer he was drinking).
Alas, humorless spoilsports cooler heads prevailed and those scenes were never animated…
  • Minty in Transformers: The Movie Storybook is a leftover from the original artwork, where artist Marcelo Matere was under the impression that Glen was a girl. Though Glen was eventually redrawn to be a boy, the Pony remained.
  • According to Aaron Archer at the BotCon 2008 Hasbro Commentary viewing of the live-action Transformers film, the My Little Pony prop carried by the little girl had to come from the personal collection of a Hasbro employee, as that particular style of figure ceased production prior to the beginning of the movie's filming. She never got it back, as it was later auctioned for charity, and whether she was ever able to replace it is uncertain. Ironically, the prop ultimately ended up in the possession of Sophie Bobal, the actress who played the little girl, as it was gifted to her after a friend of her father won it in the auction. She still owns the toy to this day.[1]
  • In Transformers Animated, Professor Princess's flying unicorn doll Powdered Sugar is an homage to My Little Pony toys.
  • For Christmas 2013, Hub Network aired a special My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic video yule log. This hour-long special consisted of music and cameo appearances by several characters or pieces from Hub properties in addition to the ponies themselves. Among the characters who made cameos were Beast Hunters Bumblebee (who beeped as he drove across the screen), Rescue Bots Blades (who stumbled onto the screen before being pulled back off), Strawberry Shortcake, Lil' Bat (mascot for The Aquabats), a Sorry! game piece (from the Hasbro game show Family Game Night), Niblet from Pound Puppies, the eponymous character of SheZow!, and several characters from the Littlest Pet Shop cartoon. This special was aired back-to-back for four hours on Christmas morning, possibly as a means of giving the bulk of the network staff a chance to spend Christmas morning with their families.
  • The BotCon 2014 retrospective panel revealed a redeco of Beast Machines Battle Unicorn based on Twilight Sparkle, aptly named "Twilight Sparkle Prime", as one of several concepts proposed but unrealized by Fun Publications.[2][3]
