Category:Variable gender characters

Gender presentation can often be something of a philosophical distinction in the robotic world of the Transformers.

As such, some character's genders have been known to shift between continuities, stories, and even (most frequently) languages.

The reasons for this can vary from overt creator intent, to script changes midway through production, to even (also most frequently) good old fashioned copy-editing flubs.

These are their stories.

Note that characters whose gender varies between portrayals should not be confused with characters who transition within the narrative. For their stories, see "Category:Transgender characters."
