Gender presentation can often be a philosophical distinction in the robotic world of the Transformers.

As such, some characters' genders have shifted between continuities, stories, and even (most frequently) languages.

The reasons for this can vary from overt creator intent to script changes midway through production to even (also most frequently) good old-fashioned copy-editing flubs.
