1-Step AOE Galvatron

One-Step Changers is a size class that originated in the Age of Extinction toyline and has been a part of nearly every show and movie toyline since then. The line largely consists of figures smaller than Deluxe that (as the name suggests) can transform in 1 step using springs similar to the Activators and Rescue Bots toys from earlier years. The toys continued into the Robots in Disguise and The Last Knight toylines (They were renamed to '1-Step Turbo Changers' for the ladder) with the same type of toys.

This would later change with the Cyberverse, Earthspark, and Transformers One toylines, as they introduced a variety of gimmicks beyond the 1-Step transformation.

Alongside Hasbro, Takara would receive some 1-Step Changers under various names of their own, including ones based on the characters from Bumblebee film.

Toys

Age of Extinction (Robots in Disguise)

As the first toyline to feature 1-Steps, these don't feature any spectacular gimmicks beyond their quick transformations, however a lot of the larger toys feature some cool gimmicks, including a Stomp & Chomp Grimlock with electronics that could interact with most of the One-Step Changers in the line.

Wave 3's Decepticon Stinger toy was redefined as a Walmart exclusive (see below) seemingly at the last minute. Judging by web retail listings,[1] the intent was for Stinger to be replaced in the wave 3 case by Lockdown, but multiple retail sightings indicate that some quantity of cases was mistakenly packed per the original plan, leading to Stinger toys with "Walmart Exclusive" stickers being found at Target stores.

Robots in Disguise (2015)

These are nothing too special from the Age of Extinction 1-Steps from before, with the exception of their badges being able to be scanned for the Mobile App.

Cyberverse

While Cyberverse originally had normal 1 steps for the first year. (along with repaints from Robots in Disguise One-Steps for Wave 1) It introduced Action Attack gimmicks for Wave 3, giving each figure some kind of action feature that wasn't there with previous 1-Step Changers.

Earthspark

With Earthspark, the gimmick of the 1-Step transformation shifted with the 1-Step Flip Changers, which involve pushing the figures so they fall over and then transform into their vehicle modes. Although they've continued with this gimmick for the first 2 years of the line, in 2025, they rebranded them as 1-Step Smash Changers, with the gimmick being that you'd have to smash them to the ground in order to transform them into robot mode.

Transformers One (Cog Changers)

Like with Earthspark the previous year, Transformers: One's Cog Changers involved a gimmick special to their line, where you'd flip up their cogs in robot form and press it to transform them into their vehicle forms. The only figures from the line that didn't do this were the ones present in the Iacon Race 3-Pack
