I appreciate the vigilant reverting Rosh-- but that was me. I'm trying something structural, and I was white-screening when logged in while trying to edit this page. -Derik 11:44, 1 June 2009 (EDT)

Fair enough. It was just an IP that I couldn't track to any known editor, and the template was broken at the time.--RosicrucianTalk 11:52, 1 June 2009 (EDT)
Yeah, I figured out the moment I saw the reversion- "damn, I should have made a memo comment."
If you haven't been so quick-on-the-draw, you presumably would have noticed the associated edits were me-logged-in... but you actually beat me to them. *sob*
Curse your efficiency! -Derik 12:00, 1 June 2009 (EDT)
Y'know, you can log out, load the edit page, and then log back in before you save the edit. :) --abates 15:56, 1 June 2009 (EDT)

Rise of the Chevy Autobots

Is there any more to come on that, or did Monzo get everything? --abates 20:06, 4 August 2009 (EDT)

Hot Rod Go Kart

[edit]

Seriously. That thing ought to be high on the list. -hx 23:16, 23 February 2010 (EST)

Word. --Detour 23:29, 23 February 2010 (EST)

Our best bet to finding out about the hot rod go-kart is to send a letter to hasbro or get in touch with them. Chances are, the go-karts owner lost interest in transformers as they grew up, and either (a sold it to another unsuspecting child or (b has it in a storage shed, collecting dust. If we could get in touch with anyone at hasbro or even former employees, we might be able to find something out.YourBestPal (talk) 19:21, 13 May 2018 (EDT)

Expo '86

[edit]

So in an interview I did with Paul Davids, he says that he wrote the script for a Transformers presentation at a World's Fair. The closest World's Fair in proximity to Davids working on the series was Expo '86; my research has further turned up that Hasbro was the largest corporate sponsor of Expo '86, and that families touring the Expo Center at a media event were greeted by "their favorite costumed characters" who handed out various Hasbro toys, including Scrapper.

And that's all I know of it, so I thought I'd toss it up. --Monzo 04:00, 24 February 2010 (EST)

Dammit! I was AT Expo 86! Too bad it was before my first birthday... I'll ask my parents and see if they remember anything about that. -- Semysane 05:18, 24 February 2010 (EST)
On a similar note, if we can get any more info about the Universal Studios Base Camp, that'd be nice. -hx 08:48, 24 February 2010 (EST)
Geez... I wish I could remember Expo '86 better. I do remember there being a big outdoor setup under a tent where they had a bunch of Transformers toys for sale. I was able to get some Aerialbots there back when they were the newest thing. I really doubt my parents would have taken a picture of it, but I can check. Evan1975 (talk) 22:51, 22 March 2018 (EDT)

Ive been digging around online, and the only things I know are that there were mascot suits of Starscream, and presumably Jazz and Grimlock. I say that because the starscream costume looks identical to the one used at the universal studios transformers event in 1985, and they had grimlock and Jazz.YourBestPal (talk) 18:46, 13 May 2018 (EDT)

I've found a photo of a performer in Starscream costume on the Vancouver Sun website (photo #8 at https://vancouversun.com/gallery/photos-vancouvers-expo-86-opened-35-years-ago-today) and an Instagram post with a Transformers merchandise kiosk in the background (https://www.instagram.com/p/BDR5zLLOhUi/?utm_source=ig_embed&ig_rid=5b5ef757-0773-4a1b-aae5-07bf876102ba). Are these of any use? --RotorstormNZ (talk) 11:35, 10 December 2022 (NZDT)

Monzo pointed me to this link. I've asked the guy for scans of the cardback, but if anyone feels like dropping $200 on these for wiking... --FortMax 14:12, 28 December 2010 (EST)

Optimus vs. Malignus cardart

[edit]

Is this what you're looking for? I found it in a TFW2005 thread about rare Transformers. If any of you have found it already, then sorry... ShootingStar7X (talk) 08:23, 23 January 2018 (EST)

Beast Wars Reborn

[edit]

I'm confused by this being listed, as there are pages for three of the four. Should it just say we need The Extraordinary Reformat, or is it just saying that we need the Japanese text?--Oshenwave (talk) 17:52, 2 September 2020 (EDT)

Didn't Karyuudo Fansubs translate the fourth part of this story recently? And I'm pretty sure the first three parts had translations posted on Unicron.com or something too. Fanofcoolstuff27 (talk) 20:22, 19 November 2020 (EST)

Kiss Players Radio Translations

[edit]

So with Karyuudo subs having translated the Kiss Players radio plays (https://karyuudofansubs.blogspot.com/2022/07/release-transformers-kiss-players.html), we're good to remove that from the list, right? AkibaSilver (talk) 09:05, 20 July 2022 (EDT)

No, we're still missing year 2. Escargon (talk) 09:25, 20 July 2022 (EDT)

It looks like we have eps 38-51 now, are we still missing a segment? --Thylacine 2000 (talk) 21:17, 15 March 2024 (EDT)

What do you mean we have eps 38-51 now? Where? Translated by who? --Sabrblade (talk) 15:26, 16 March 2024 (EDT)
On our page for the KP radio drama, episodes 38-51 seem to be covered at the same level of detail as all prior ones. --Thylacine 2000 (talk) 15:57, 16 March 2024 (EDT)
Those pages were made from summaries we got from a fansite. --Sabrblade (talk) 16:00, 16 March 2024 (EDT)

Whoever made "Invasion Galactica"

[edit]

The Hot Rod go-kart may never have existed, but we know a bunch of Estrela toys got repackaged by unknown parties as "Invasion Galactica". Was any legitimate license-holder involved?

http://www.toyarchive.com/Transformers/Brazilian/Invasion.html

I'd say this is a mystery worth acknowledging up-front. --Thylacine 2000 (talk) 16:54, 4 November 2022 (EDT)

Various European packaging variations

[edit]

These are some very specific inquiries.

1) Starting off with the very first batch if Micromaster Patrols:

The first three patrols released at the tail end of 1988 (the Off Road Patrol, the Race Car Patrol and the Air Strike Patrol) were released in different packaging than all the other Micromasters, a variation of the 1988 packaging design featuring the old pre-1989-style Transformers logo, with a unique "Micro Transformers" title. That packaging design was then dropped for all subsequent Micromaster releases in favor of the more well-known silver packaging design featuring the redesigned 1989-onwards Transformers logo.
However, in the UK, these three early Micromaster Patrols were available in the 1989-style silver packaging design. I've got photographic evidence (and posted it on various websites) of the Air Strike Patrol and the Off Road Patrol in silver packaging (English-only, with "Hasbro Bradley U.K." stickers and Woolworth price tags in pounds!), plus the Race Car Patrol in French/Dutch packaging in both packaging variants (1988-style and 1989-style), both featuring stickers from Bart Smit (a Dutch toy store chain), and the Off Road and Air Strike Patrols also in French/Dutch 1988-style packaging.
Still missing: The Race Car Patrol in 1989-style English-only UK packaging, and the Off Road and Air Strike Patrols in French/Dutch 1989-style packaging.

2) Next up: The European-exclusive Obliterators, Pyro and Clench.

When these two were first released in 1993, they were available in two different packaging variants: The more well-known English/Spanish versions, which named the two "Pyro" and "Clench", and the much rarer French/Dutch versions, which is where the names "Spark" and "Colossus" originated. I have photographic evidence of "Spark" in French/Dutch 1993 packaging, and of the 1993 French/Dutch instructions (but not the packaging) for "Colossus".
Then in 1994, the two were re-released, this time in new packaging branded as part of the Generation 2 line. For these releases, only English/Spanish/Portuguese packaging is currently confirmed, which gave these two the names "Spark" and "Colossus". Prior to the discovery of the 1993 French/Dutch versions, it was assumed that this was an arbitrary decision to rename them, when in reality, it seems more like an attempt to harmonize their names across the various European markets.
Still missing: French/Dutch 1993 packaging for "Colossus" (definitely exists), and the second 1994 Generation 2 packaging variant for both of them, namely French/Dutch/German (assuming it exists).

3) More Generation 2 fun: The wave 2 and 3 Go-Bots and the wave 2 Cyberjets.

As mentioned above, at the time, two different multilingual packaging variants existed in Europe: English/Spanish/Portuguese and French/Dutch/German.
The wave 1 Go-Bots (Firecracker, Gearhead, Blowout, High Beam, Motormouth and Double Clutch) are confirmed to have been available in both versions, as are the wave 1 Cyberjets (Skyjack, Hooligan and Space Case). The Go-Bots were spelled "Gobots" without a hyphen in both versions and given the additional French name "Turbo-Transfo" for the French/Dutch/German version, while the Cyberjets were renamed into "Mini-Jets" for both versions and given the additional French name "Les Pirates du Ciel" for the French/Dutch/German version.
However, the wave 2 and 3 Go-Bots and the wave 2 Cyberjets are only confirmed (with photographic evidence) to have been released in French/Dutch/German packaging, and were given a somewhat odd treatment... or rather, Hasbro released them as originally intended, instead of the last minute change they were given for the US market: Rather than as Optimus Prime and Megatron, the wave 2 solid plastic redecos of Firecracker and Blowout were still released under those same names, basically as running change variants, with Blowout still marketed as an Autobot. The same happened with the wave 2 Cyberjet redecos: Rather than being marketed as new versions of the G1 characters Air Raid, Jetfire and Strafe, the redecos were sold under the names "Skyjack", "Hooligan" and "Space Case", and marketed as Decepticons. The wave 3 Go-Bots were given a sort of hybrid approach: While they were given the same English names as their US counterparts, thus making them new versions of G1 characters Sideswipe, Soundwave, Frenzy, Bumblebee, Ironhide and Mirage, they kept the same alternate French names as their wave predecessors: Firecracker and Sideswipe were both "Turbo-Diablo" in French, Gearhead and Soundwave were both "Turbo-Stockcar", Blowout and Frenzy were both "Turbo-Comete", High Beam and Bumblebee were both "Turbo-"Libero", Motormouth and Ironhide were both "Turbo-Porteur", and Double Clutch and Mirage were both "Turbo-Indy".
Still missing: Any photographic evidence that the wave 2 and 3 Go-Bots/Gobots and the wave 2 Cyberjets/Mini-Jets were ever available in English/Spanish/Portuguese packaging, and thus, whether they were marketed as G1 characters like in the US, or as running change variants of the G1 versions. (Like with the 1994 French/Dutch/German versions of the Obliterators, it's possible these packaging versions for these particular figures simply don't exist.)

4) The Tiny Tins versions of the Race Mini-Con Team.

The members of the Armada Race Mini-Con Team (Dirt Boss, Downshift and Mirage) were re-released in 2003, this time available individually, each with their own unique Tiny Tins carrying case. In the United States, they were branded as part of the 2003 Universe line, but in Europe, they were instead sold in Armada-branded packaging, complete with Armada-style Tiny Tins! (Inevitably, some errors happened during production, resulting in a few instances of an Armada-style Tiny Tin on a Universe cardback available in the United States.) I currently have photographic evidence of Dirt Boss and Mirage in Armada packaging, but I'm still searching for photos of Tiny Tin Downshift on an Armada cardback.
Additionally, the cardbacks for Dirt Boss and Mirage also feature a cross-sell depicting the Street Speed Mini-Con Team (Spiral, Oval and Backtrack). If possible, I'd like to have clarification whether these were indeed also available individually on Armada cardbacks featuring Tiny Tins in Europe.

Again, this is my weird little corner, not sure if this is quite on par with "Invasion Galactica", "The Love Bug" or the unknown Generation 1 animation studios.--Nevermore (talk) 19:09, 18 June 2025 (EDT)
