Scamper's Generation 1 [[robot mode]] [[character model]] has a few discrepancies due to poor photo references of his toy presumably taken on 45° angles (which was the standard for most of the toy reference photos included in Generation 1 production bibles), obscuring some of the details and leading to a little bit of guess work for the artist. Scamper is an Autobot from the Generation 1 continuity family.
Why only 15 minutes? Because if it were any longer, The Man would consider it welfare!

Scamper is part of the composite whole that is the Autobot city, Metroplex. Although autonomous in his own right, with an impulsive and sociable personality, Scamper is an extension of Metroplex, and commonly patrols the peripheries of the giant Autobot's city form in his sports car mode alongside Slammer.

In vehicle mode, Scamper could occasionally be seen berthed in Metroplex's garage on the left-hand side of the city. When the Decepticons attacked Metroplex with a sonic weapon from the planet Eurythma, Scamper sounded the alarm and eagerly returned fire on the villains. However, he was struck down by the devastating harmonics along with Metroplex. Carnage in C-Minor

Later, Scamper and Slammer discovered Swindle stealing Metroplex's transformation cog, and reacted with disbelief at the possibility of an invader. After an immense battle where Metrotitan and his comrades were sent fleeing, Twincast received a message from Optimus Prime. Scamper aided him by linking him to Teletraan II. Metrowars

Some time later, Scamper responded to an alarm indicating that an intruder had infiltrated Metroplex. Discovering the Decepticon Metrobomb, Scamper deduced that Metrotitan was planning to upgrade himself into a form that would rival Metroplex's own. Though Scamper lost an arm in the ensuing fight, he and Metroplex managed to capture Metrobomb and delete all of the data he had stolen. Metrowars 2

Legends comic

When Metroplex was brought to the Legends World, Scamper tagged along. This universe was also visited by Decepticons from Scamper's native universe, who sought to construct a new Trypticon to conquer this world. To allow their new soldier to transform, they needed a transformation cog from Metroplex, and attacked the base. Scamper sped out to defend his partner and faced off against his rival, Full-Tilt. However, the Decepticon had acquired a new body and was able to overpower the smaller Scamper. Despite some assistance from Metroplex, Full-Tilt was able to run in while in his smaller Headmaster form as Nightbeat used the Decepticon's transtector to hold Scamper down. Decepticon Civil War

After an attack on Autobot City by Trypticon, things weren't looking good for Metroplex or his belly full of Autobots and Humans. With the big guy taking it on the chin, Ultra Magnus deployed Scamper into battle. The humans within Metroplex rejoiced at Scamper's arrival, however, Galvatron was prepared for him. The Decepticon immediately launched Full-Tilt into battle and he made short work of Scamper.

Luckily for Scamper, Metroplex and everybody else, Six-Gun made the scene and successfully drove Trypticon away by turning the power of the Brunt tank against him. The Story of Super Robot Lifeforms: The Transformers #3

2005 IDW continuity

Scamper was the drone-like "page" of Alpha Trion, who used Metroplex as his base. Ironing Out the Details On an abandoned Cybertron, he was sent to bring the newly revived Ironhide to Alpha Trion. Scamper continuously repeated the phrase "You-Must-Come-Now!" to an unconscious Ironhide until he woke up. After Ironhide agreed to come, Scamper transformed and instructed Ironhide to "Follow." Even though Ironhide tried to strike up a conversation with this vocabulary-challenged stranger, Scamper would only repeat his last phrase over and over again. Ironhide continued to try to chat until they arrived at Metroplex. Iron in the Blood

As Alpha Trion met with Ironhide, he apologized for Scamper's absence upon his revival, as Scamper was on another mission for him at the time. After some maintenance work from Alpha Trion, Scamper followed Ironhide to a broken bridge where an Autobot lay beneath the rubble. When asked for assistance in Ironhide's endeavor, Scamper did not respond. Ironing Out the Details Scamper was watching when Ironhide's patience ran out and he delivered a right hook to Alpha Trion, and responded by exclaiming "Danger!" several times. Available only with Metroplex in the third year of the original The Transformers toyline (second in the European and Japanese toylines), Scamper transforms from a six-wheeled Cybertronic sports car to robot; he is entirely black, with absolutely no paint applications in either mode, and only an Autobot sticker on his chest for color. The two electro-blaster guns mounted on his roof are removed for transformation and inserted into his shoulders to form his arms, and the robot has its own, small particle beam pistol weapon.
Scamper interacts with Metroplex in the same way as other Mini-Vehicles, fitting into his various parking spots, although ironically not the one that the cartoon showed him sitting in. Usually, the figure is kept in the garage in the larger robot's chest, from which he can be deployed and sent rolling down a ramp to ground level with the push of a lever.
This mold was also used to make Metrodash.

Included with Titan Class Metroplex, Generations: Thrilling 30 Legends Class Scamper transforms into a six-wheeled Cybertronic sports car with side-mounted cannons. Unlike his original incarnation, you don't have to pop off his arms to get him into either mode this time. He comes with a twin-barreled blaster which can peg onto his hands and back/roof via 5 mm post. He uses a sticker for his hood/chest insignia. This version also sports some more colors and a face that's more cartoon-based than the original.
His packaging stock photography has him mis-transformed, with his pelvis not being swung out.
This mold was redecoed to make Combiner Wars Scorponok, and served as the model for Metrodash in the Legends manga.
