Maximal Buster

Whenever a battle calls for a Maximal to use a ranged weapon to blindly fire lasers at their enemy, the Maximal Buster (サイバトロンバスター Saibatoron Basutā, lit. "Cybertron Buster") is here to help! This is a standard-model blaster used only by Maximals, whenever their unique weapons and attacks are considered impractical for a particular battle. Alternatively, the Maximal Buster is used by Maximals that don't have multi-shot ranged weapons in their regular arsenal.

Beast Wars II cartoon

Scuba brought a Maximal Buster with him when he infiltrated the Predacon lake fortress. He used it to threaten the Combatrons into returning a Tasmanian devil they'd taken prisoner and to free Tasmania Kid from a death trap. The Lake Trap With the exception of Scuba, the members of the Lio Convoy Unit wielded Maximal Busters to stop Galvatron in his drill tank mode. Despite that it clearly did nothing to him, they kept attacking him like this until Scuba got him stuck on his back. They got better use out the Maximal Busters by shooting the rock formation above Galvatron and burying him under the rubble. Galvatron Revived

Apache joined the fight to protect Tripledacus wielding Maximal Busters. The Combined Giant, Tripledacus When reinforcements arrived to kick the Predacons out of the Maximal campsite, Diver got himself a Maximal Buster and kept Dirge and Thrust at gunpoint. He forced them outside and handed DJ the Maximal Buster to keep the two Combatrons from trying to escape. The Festive Jointrons

By pretending to fight him directly, the Maximals succeeded in catching Gigastorm on unstable ground, through which he fell. For this battle, Diver and Bighorn wielded Maximal Busters. The Maximals tried to reach the Mother Computer but were intercepted by the Cyborg Beasts in the Valley of Lions. Forced to fight, Diver, Bighorn, and Scuba chose to wield Maximal Busters against their enemies. They continued to use them to get NAVI through the Mother Computer's defenses. The "Cybertron Buster" was the first roleplay toy released in the Japanese Beast Wars toyline and was sold among the Beast Wars II line-up of products. When batteries are inserted and the trigger is pulled, the triple barrels movie back and forth and emit a light that shines through the green transparent plastic parts. As the lights flash, a rapid-fire laser sound effect can be heard.

The "Cybertron Buster" is an accessory piece that was made available with Masterpiece Lio Convoy. It features a tab on either side of the handle that slots into either of Lio Convoy's hands.

Lio Convoy was released as an EB Games exclusive in Canada.

Legacy: Evolution "Nemesis Leo Prime" comes with a handheld blaster based on the Maximal Buster. This blaster is made up of two separate pieces that are both Fire Blast effect-compatible.

Notes

• The Beast Wars II Encyclopedia and the Beast Wars II Super Encyclopedia list the Maximal Buster on Bighorn's page as one of his weapons and the Super Encyclopedia also lists the weapon as being part of Diver's arsenal.
