The kids love it!

Spewing forth a stream of fire towards one's enemies may not only be devastating, but demoralizing to the enemy as well. As such, many Transformers make use of flamethrowers in combat. Bots who wield flamethrowers include:

Chopster and the Turbo-Pack transform into flamethrowers. Singe transforms into a double-barreled nuclear-powered flamethrower.

Slag and Charger's functions are "flamethrower".

Jazz could use a combination of his overhead flame-thrower, full-spectrum front grill beacon, and 180 dB stereo speakers to create a spectacular, disorienting light and sound show. Jazz's Universe profile In bull mode, Horri-Bull used a tail flame thrower to incinerate his enemies. While introducing himself to his fellow Autobots, Jazz boasted that his photon rifle and overhead flamethrowers would make things hot for the Decepticons. The Transformers Soon afterwards, when some of the Autobots accused Sparkplug Witwicky of aiding the Decepticons, the human tried to escape with his son Buster and Jazz blocked their path with a wall of fire. When the Decepticons attacked the Ark, Jazz fired his flamethrower at Soundwave, though the latter's armour was more that a match for its effects. Raiders of the Last Ark Jazz would attempt to deploy his flamethrower in bringing the out-of-control Slag under control in Old River Valley, Idaho, but the rampaging Dinobot was too quick for him. Learning that the Decepticons were stealing fuel from all across the globe with the help of a molecular transfer device, Optimus Prime formed a convoy of Autobots to stop them. During a confrontation at the Los Palmos observatory Jazz prepared to use his flamethrower on Starscream and Bombshell but was stunned by a concussive blast. After Starscream retreated, Bombshell decided he didn't want to face Jazz's flamethrower alone and took off after him. Peril from the Stars

Deciding to use the Decepticons' own tainted fuel against them, Optimus Prime had Grapple transport it into a pit where Jazz used his flamethrower to burn it, creating a toxic cloud that took out the attacking Decepticon jets. Decepticon Poison

Blot's More than Meets the Eye profile Cindersaur's creature mode had a fusion-powered flame-thrower mounted in its mouth which he could fire with extreme accuracy. In robot mode he wielded a less-powerful flame-thrower rifle. Cindersaur's More than Meets the Eye profile Cutthroat had an 800° Fahrenheit flamethrower in his mouth in alternate mode. Transformers Legends anthology

Searching for raw materials on the Planet of Junk, Torch and his fellow Recyclons were attacked by army of Junkions commanded by Wreck-Gar erupted from the ground. In the brief skirmish that followed, Torch's flamethrower was destroyed by a Junkion mace, and the resulting plasma buildup blew off his arm. The Transformers Jazz is armed with a chromed silver photon rifle and a shoulder-mounted, spring-loaded rocket launcher that can fire three silver missiles in robot mode, though his packaging bio maintains he has a photon rifle and a flamethrower.
Jazz was also made available in 1985 as a giveaway exclusive through a Cookie Crisp cereal contest and was reissued in Europe and Australia in 1990 as part of the Classics line. This mold was also used to make Stepper/Ricochet.

Generation 2 Jazz came with a new missile launcher—once more identified as a flamethrower in his packaging bio—that was not created for the Generation 2 line, but is a new tooling based on the launcher that came with 1991 G.I. Joe Snow Serpent figure. This launcher was also used in the Generation 2 re-releases of Sideswipe and Onslaught.
