Kre-O Transformers (comic)

The Kre-O Transformers comic is a web comic first released on TakaraTomy's Kre-O website in August 2013.
The comics follow the adventures of the Kreons as they journey to Earth and continue their tiny war on that planet. The whole thing is a silly, tongue-firmly-in-cheek affair focused on gags; though presented in a proper linear story format and with more installments than any Kre-O story in the west.
Hayato Sakamoto wrote and drew the first 10 chapters (plus an extra chapter found only in a Kre-O Catelog) before leaving and letting Makoto Wakabayashi take over. Makoto wrote a further 8 chapters before the comic was grounded to a halt on May 2014. It is unknown if it is a continuing hiatus or if the series has genuinely stopped (although it can still be found on the website).

Notes
- Despite the first year of Kre-O sets not being sold in Japan (at least, not through TakaraTomy), a lot of the Kreons from that year make cameos.
- Similarly, multiple characters particularly Optimus Prime, Megatron and Bumblebee all swap between their Generation 1 and Prime-styled Kreons, with the latter being used mainly (but not always) when the story features a larger brick-bot from the actual sold-in-Japan sets.
- Throughout the series, many, many Kreons, all of them inspired by past Transformers characters from a broad mix of franchises, pop up who do not exist as toys. While the human Kreons would all require new hair/hat designs, nearly all of the Transformers stick with parts that actually exist, though many times extensively "painted" to further get the visual similarity across.
- Though under Makoto Wakabayashi's direction the Transformer characters (particularly those exclusive to the comic) started receiving made-up parts too.
- These cameos also show artist/writer Hayato Sakamoto's penchant not just for the obscure, but for stuff outside of TakaraTomy's sphere of influence, including cameos from characters based on their IDW designs and Fun Publications toy releases.
