The Transformers: Dark of the Moon toyline coincides with the third film in Michael Bay's live-action film series. The line is divided into three brandings: the MechTech line for Deluxe, Voyager, Leader, Ultimate and Human Alliance class size toys; the Cyberverse subline featuring Legends Class characters, Commander Class (new price point, effectively replacing Scouts) and play sets; and Robo Power, a catch all line for various merchandise including role play. | The Transformers: Dark of the Moon toyline coincides with the third film in Michael Bay's live-action film series. == | Due to a combination of factors, a number of named characters from the film did not receive "mainline" toy releases, an issue noted by many frustrated fans. Examples include Deluxe Que and Soundwave never seeing a North American release (apparently an issue with retail orders), Dino not receiving a transformable toy at all until 2014 (due to lack of licensing for his vehicle mode), and only one of the three Dreads receiving a Deluxe-or-larger sized toy (likely due to Hasbro not wanting to release three identical black SUVs, even if they do turn into different-looking robots.) | ||

The figures also come in 3 transformation difficulty levels, changed from the original 5 in the Generations and 2010 Transformers toylines.
Due to a combination of factors, a number of named characters from the film did not receive "mainline" toy releases, an issue noted by many frustrated fans. Examples include Deluxe Que and Soundwave never seeing a North American release (apparently an issue with retail orders), Dino not receiving a transformable toy at all until 2014 (due to lack of licensing for his vehicle mode), and only one of the three Dreads receiving a Deluxe-or-larger sized toy (likely due to Hasbro not wanting to release three identical black SUVs, even if they do turn into different-looking robots.)

Exclusives
[edit]The MechTech weapon campaign started on May 14 2011, handed out at various Japanese retailers based upon the amount spent purchasing Dark of the Moon toys. 10,000 units of each weapon were made.
Exclusive to the Japanese convenience store chain Lawson, this black redeco of the Transformers (2010) toyline Voyager class Optimus Prime was made available for pre-order with the pre-purchase of a movie ticket for the Japanese release of Dark of the Moon. The ticket pre-purchase/toy pre-order period began on May 1, 2011 and ended on July 28, while the toy became available on August 9, shortly after the release of the movie in Japan. The package was priced at 6760 yen (1300 yen for the price of the movie ticket and 5460 yen for the toy).
Also available at Lawson, this metal strap was available for pre-order between May 1 and June 30, and was mailed out from July 14.
Exclusive to Japanese Toys"R"Us stores, this smoke-clear, black and teal redeco of the Revenge of the Fallen Legends Class Optimus Prime toy was made available on August 12, 2011, with the purchase of 3000 yen worth of Dark of the Moon product. 10,000 were made.
