The year 2004 (MMIV) is the twenty-first year of the Transformers brand and the brand's 20th anniversary. The anniversary was used as selling point for OTFCC 2004 and an Optimus Prime toy was created to celebrate it.

Story of Binaltech
- At some point in time after 1985, but before 2005, Ravage is captured by the EDC and kept as a prisoner. He is then kept stasis-locked in cassette-mode inserted in his future/past self's tape deck, in order to provide his body with a "Life Essence Nucleus", as part of the III's "X-9 Revival Plan". The Ravage of the present remains unaware of his time-tossed doppelganger. Ghosts of the Past
