Heatwave the Fire-Bot is an Autobot from the Rescue Bots portion of the Aligned continuity family.

The team leader of the Rescue Bots, Heatwave was given his position because of how deeply he cares for his team and their mission. However, he is a bot of action at heart who dreams of one day joining Team Prime, and sometimes has little patience for anything he sees as getting in the way of his mission, including staying in disguise as non-sentient vehicles and working with human partners.

When he goes into action, though, no blaze is too strong for his armor. With built-in water cannons, a rescue hook, and a fireman's axe, he's well prepared to take on the most stubborn fires and most intense rescue missions. He partners with the other Rescue Bots and with their newest human teammates, Kade and Cody Burns, though he and Kade are frequently at odds as their egos clash.

Heatwave was the leader of the Rescue Bot team on Cybertron. They received a message from Optimus Prime to join him on Earth, and immediately hopped in their spaceship. On arrival on the new planet, Optimus gave him a new alternate mode, a fire truck, and they headed for Griffin Rock. Blades accidentally chopped down a tree with his rotors, requiring some quick work by the rest of the team to prevent more damage. They finally reached their destination, where Optimus introduced them to Chief Charlie. Rescue Bots Roll Out Heatwave's first mission was to go to the Fire Safety Training Center for training, and there he rescued a cat and extinguished a fire. He soon after received an emergency alert from Prime Fire Station, and rushed back across town to find the station on fire. After rescuing Chief Charlie and Cody Burns, he and Cody became partners, and were assigned the important task of giving Sparkplug a bath. Prime Alert

After the team at the station were joined by Blades, the two Rescue Bots and Cody headed out to another emergency, however Blades's radio was damaged, making it difficult for Heatwave to give him orders. While Heatwave battled the forest fire, Blades accidentally fanned the fire with his rotors until Heatwave and Cody were able to shoo him away. Blades discovered where his partner and the other endangered humans were, and led Heatwave to them. Heatwave and Cody were able to finish putting out the fire, and returned to Prime Fire Station covered in soot. Rescue Bots Respond Chase and Boulder later arrived at the station to complete the team, and Heatwave and Blades were there to welcome them. Rapid Rescue

On Cybertron, Heatwave was a three time Lobbing champion. Road Trip

Heatwave and his team were finishing a routine patrol in space when they received a distress call. Investigating, they found they'd been marked as lunch by an Energon eater, and had to put themselves in stasis and power down their ship to escape it. Unfinished Business Sometime later, the Sigma received a transmission from Optimus Prime and landed on Earth. After dropping the bombshell that Cybertron was no more, Optimus appointed Heatwave team leader and assigned them to Griffin Rock to work with the Burns family. The four Rescue Bots were presented to the public by Chief Burns at a ceremony, following which Heatwave and his new partner, Kade Burns, drove to the museum to attend to a fire. Heatwave was disgruntled when Kade took the credit for his saving Chief Burns and Graham from a falling dinosaur statue head. That night, Cody Burns discovered the Rescue Bots' secret, and after they helped stop a rogue robot Tyrannosaurus rex, Chief Burns revealed the truth to the rest of the team. Family of Heroes

Heatwave and Kade continued having trouble working together, with Kade even preferring to drive a non-transforming firetruck. After Mount Magma started spewing lava and threatening the island, the pair were forced to work together, driving through a tunnel under the island to stop the lava from reaching the bunker under the fire station. Under Pressure Following the rescue of Doc Greene, Heatwave felt under-appreciated by the humans. He was amused when Dani fitted a scoop claw to Blades, but less so when the pair started upstaging the other Rescue Bots at rescues, and even threatened to forcibly remove the device from his comrade. Heatwave and the other Rescue Bots came to Blades's rescue when he was struck by lightning and unable to fly, after which Dani sent some appreciation their way and Blades promised not to use the claw as much. Urge to kill...rising...

After another rescue of Doc Greene, Heatwave was still disgruntled and refused to take part in the Lobster and Technology Festival, instead staying back at the fire station to watch it on TV. When the town was attacked by flobsters, he ventured out to help the other Rescue Bots fight the flying critters, resulting in him later having to endure being climbed on by children. Flobsters on Parade Following the rescue of a truck of hazardous materials, Heatwave and the other Rescue Bots were subjected to a screening of The Natives of Tatooie, which accidentally resulted in Huxley Prescott causing a mass panic by reporting an alien invasion. Heatwave's attempt to stop Mr Harrison's heli-pack ride with water only resulted in an umbrella shop being flooded. When Boulder was taken over by nanites, Heatwave threatened to physically intervene, though Blades suspected Boulder would come out on top in that match-up. Cody on Patrol

Called out about a cat in a tree, Heatwave saved Mrs Neederlander when she fell out of a tree, and was rewarded with a slap in the face. The next day, he helped hunt a lion and return a bunch of lemurs to the zoo. Walk on the Wild Side When a rescue went wrong, Heatwave managed to fish Kade and another human out of a river using his fire hose. Cody roped the Rescue Bots, including "Uncle Heatwave", into helping him look after a Robo-Baby. The Robo-Baby seemed to like Heatwave best of all. After the baby went missing during a call-out, the bots had to rescue it from a wind farm. Heatwave caught it in mid-air after it fell from a windmill. Four Bots and a Baby

"Just keep swimming...just keep swimming..."

During a heatwave, Heatwave did not appreciate being used as a sprinkler. When a weather machine went out of control, he and the other Rescue Bots had to spring into action attending snow-related emergencies around town. Christmas in July Heatwave and the other Rescue Bots were invited on the Burns' annual fishing trip on the Darby Ava. Heatwave didn't really get the whole fishing thing until they encountered a mechanical shark and he got to wrestle it. He, Chase and Boulder eventually managed to disable the sub, though it self-destructed soon after. Deep Trouble

The Rescue Bots had to help stop out-of-control technology one foggy day, when the Griffin Rock mainframe was hacked into. Heatwave had to rescue the mayor from the town hall when a garbage truck trapped him inside. Return of the Dino Bot When Doctor Morocco turned up with his MorBot and threatened to overshadow the Rescue Bots, the team was forced to compete with the doctor's invention to prove themselves worthy. Thanks to Morocco's machinations, they failed and were stood down from service. Heatwave was particularly angry at the loss. The Other Doctor Accepting defeat, he attempted to make contact with Optimus Prime to get reassigned and considered getting their ship working again. After being called out to a fire at the lab, the Rescue Bots got the chance to exact some payback on the MorBot. The team was subsequently reinstated as Griffin Rock's rescue service. After helping Kade rescue Hayley, a girl Kade was interested in, Heatwave was annoyed by Kade blowing him off to go on a date. When he and the rest of the team turned up to a break-in at the Hall of Inspiration, Heatwave was forced to protect Kade and as a result was shrunk to the size of an ant by the Minimizer. He was joined by the similarly shrunken Boulder and Blades, and the trio ended up in the sewer. After braving huge rats and a torrent of water, they made it to the Griffin Rock dam, where they rescued Kade and alerted the rest of the team to the fact that the dam was near bursting. Cody later used the Minimizer to return them to their normal sizes. Small Blessings Heatwave helped save Captain Wild's ship and found "tunnel 15" in the tunnels below Griffin Rock. This led the team to discover Professor Baranova's Midgard at the bottom of an ocean trench, and they helped her seal the methane vent causing the Griffin Rock Triangle. The Griffin Rock Triangle

After the daring rescue of Huxley Prescott by the four bots, Chief left them with Kade in charge, however when they got an apparent SOS from Cody and Kade was unable to be contacted, Heatwave made the decision to disobey the Chief's orders and venture into Griffin Crest. He, Blades and Boulder were subsequently caught by the EMP field there and immobilized on top of Old Parker, necessitating a rescue by Chase and the human half of the team. He was forced to concede that sticking to the rules sometimes worked. Rules and Regulations Heatwave and the other three Bots were washed out to sea with Cody and ended up on an inhabited island. Their attempts to build him shelter and gather food were less than successful, but they did manage to find traces of the Oaken Crow, which led to them finding the ship and getting off the island. "Next up in the javelin throw event is Heatwave!"

Chasing a crashed meteorite on Wayward Island, the team ran into Bumblebee. Heatwave, Boulder and Chase checked out the meteorite and were unwittingly exposed to an alien virus. They slowly lost the ability to move or speak, and it was only through the work of Bumblebee, Blades and the humans that a cure was found. Bumblebee to the Rescue Heatwave and the team were called out to deal with a giant rampaging blob of space slime. He was particularly incensed when it ate Chase, and though his water didn't help stop the blob, he found zapping it with electricity did, and the discovery ultimately led to the Squilsh's defeat. You've Been Squilshed

After most of the town disappeared, Heatwave and the other Bots found themselves fighting small mechanical bugs. He took Cody, Frankie and Kade to the lab so they could check the information on the computer there, but after all three of them vanished as well, it was up to Heatwave and his team to work out where the humans had been teleported to. After locating the cavern in question, they were able to rescue the townsfolk. Countdown When Griffin Rock was infested by what appeared to be ghosts, Heatwave was mostly just frustrated that he couldn't hit them. When they turned out to just be holograms, he took great delight in catching the perpetrators by hosing them down to work out which were the real humans. The Haunting of Griffin Rock

When Kade challenged Graham to a race, Heatwave did the driving and ended up demolishing a fire hydrant. After Chase and the Chief went missing, Heatwave and the others searched all night for them, eventually tracking them down to the lead mine where the team had to rescue them. Little White Lies Heatwave was annoyed when Kade ordered the Bots to take part in Frankie's film for school. The Bots soon had problems attending to an earthquake and acting like robots at the same time, but when Frankie followed them into the tunnels under the town, Heatwave had to come rescue her from a cave-in. In the process of doing so, he had to drop his cover, but she was passed out and didn't notice. Shake Up After Heatwave took part in a rescue at a pyrotechnics factory, Cody got a repulsor badge that gave him superhero powers. The Bots ended up being relegated to cleanup, at least until the badge overloaded and they had to rescue Cody from a bubble of energy. Rescue Boy

Heatwave was roped into taking part in a photo op with Kade. When the four bots attended the testing of a time machine, he sheltered Cody and Frankie, and thus when the four Bots were propelled back in time to 1939, so were the kids. Heatwave had the rest of his team keep up the pretense of being robots, and they were subjected to a number of tests before Morocco pinned them to a wall and prepared to dissect them. Luckily Optimus and Bumblebee came to their rescue, and the team returned to the present, only to find that Morocco was in control of Griffin Rock. It's a Bot Time They soon established that leaving Dither in the past was a mistake. After an encounter with an alternate version of the Burns family, the Rescue Bots returned to 1939 and retrieved Dither, returning the timeline to normal. Bot to the Future

Heatwave 1, Bear 0

Heatwave soon learned to drive the newly-acquired Mobile Headquarters, using it to stop a speeding driver. An incident with Doc Greene's Vacuum Accelerator resulted in the Mobile HQ and three of the Rescue Bots being teleported around the island. After a stop atop Mount Griffin, Heatwave threw the device away, only to find they needed it to rescue Kade from the forest. Road Trip The Rescue Bots helped construct Frankie Greene's Sky Forest, only to have to rescue the town's citizens when the plant life grew out of control. Sky Forest When Chief Burns was ill, Heatwave had to contend with Kade appointing himself head honcho, and Cody being accidentally aged into an adult in a lab experiment. He helped track down Evan and Myles, and was amused when Kade was temporarily deaged into a child by the equipment they'd stolen. One for the Ages

When an iceberg was discovered that was actually a frozen ship carrying a dangerous Sub-Zero Expander, Heatwave took part in an attempt to get rid of the device by blowing it up, which was aborted when it turned out Doctor Morocco had claimed the vessel as salvage. The team had to deal with the fallout when the device exploded and froze a five-mile section of ocean. Tip of the Iceberg After the Bots saved a skier when a huge snow storm hit Griffin Rock, Heatwave scolded Blades for not helping him evade an avalanche. When Blades and Cody got trapped in Griffin Rock Element Quest, a new virtual reality game in the Hall of Inspiration, Heatwave made sure the power didn't go out by holding two electrical lines together, which caused him to be temporarily dazed after being electrocuted. He later entered the game himself and was surprised to see that Blades was protecting Cody very well. He helped the two defeat the game and was teleported out. Heatwave later commended Blades for his courage. A Virtual Disaster

Heatwave was confused and irritated by Kade ignoring emergency calls about fires, until he was hypnotized by one of the cellphones which were bringing the island's inhabitants under their control. Heatwave was forced to dig up Blossom Vale until the cell tower was destroyed. Spellbound Huxley Prescott roped the rescue team into taking part in a reality show, but started manufacturing his emergencies to make the show more exciting. As a result, Heatwave ran out of water to fight a forest fire, and had to use maple syrup instead. Prescott's Bots When Kade's nightmares about gremlins started affecting his work, Heatwave told him to deal with them. Unfortunately this ended with the team having to face a horde of gremlins, conjured from Kade's nightmares by Doc Greene's Nightmare Imaging Device. Blame the Gremlins

When a monster was spotted during a star-gazing expedition with Cody, Heatwave was doused with skunk smell. He and the other Rescue Bots helped Cody hunt for the beast, resulting in an encounter with it at an old cannery. It transpired that the "Magic Meat" that Mayor Luskey had been selling was Fo-Foo, an experimental food with lycanthropic side effects, and the team had to track down Luskey and Graham who were both infected. Nyan Heatwave

During a visit by Woodrow Burns, Heatwave realized a photo he'd taken of a cavern showed energon, and alerted Optimus. Once Optimus arrived to help mine the energon, the mission instead turned into a rescue, as Woodrow and Cody had become trapped in a cavern deep underground. What Lies Below Separated from the rest of the team, Optimus and Heatwave discovered the main shaft of Mount Magma, and nearby, a sizable deposit of energon. When they were later reunited with the rest of the team, they were able to ignite the energon in a plan to blast themselves out of the top of the volcano. Optimus later farewelled the Rescue Bots, informing Heatwave that he should prepare for greater responsibility some time soon. What Rises Above

Following the launch of the Asgard and its collision with an asteroid, Heatwave and the team had to intercept debris falling on the town. The Rescue Bots fired up their spaceship and went up to rescue the crew of the Asgard, with Heatwave himself jumping over to the space elevator and retrieving Doc Greene and Graham. Space Bots When the team had to deal with a mechanical bull, they discovered it was made hostile by Heatwave's red color scheme. They managed to get it to the laboratory where Cody was accidentally sent with it to the Island of Misfit Tech. Heatwave volunteered to travel there, but quickly lost his recall tag and ended up fighting metal-eating insects until Cody came to the rescue with the help of the mechanical bull. Joined by Kade, the trio were able to return to Griffin Rock in time to help deal with a Scrapmaster. The Island of Misfit Tech

The town's new central computer Vigil was unable to control the four Rescue Bots, so when it attempted to take control of Griffin Rock, the Bots were able to get the rest of the team into its vault to stop it. The Vigilant Town Heatwave and the other Rescue Bots went along on a nature hike, however when the hike was interrupted by a snake infestation in town, Heatwave was forced to put up with Kade and Dani bickering and discovered he had a particular dislike of snakes. Buddy System Heatwave, Blades and Boulder accompanied Graham and Cody to Wayward Island, where they discovered a lodestone super-magnet that was causing metal objects to be pulled towards it all the way from Griffin Rock. In Search of the Griffin's Nest

When Chase appeared to join Evan and Myles during a crime spree by the pair, Heatwave believed that he'd switched sides. It later turned out Chase had merely gone undercover to learn the pair's plan, though as Heatwave later pointed out, he should have let them know. Bots and Robbers Following the rescue of a dog, Heatwave was confused by the concept of dog ownership, until Noble turned out to be a capable rescuer who joined the Rescue Bots in their work. Rescue Dog Called to the mainland by Optimus Prime, Heatwave received additional training, allowing him to focus his energies in preparation to take on a third mode. As he and Kade headed back to Griffin Rock, he ended up scanning a sunken fire boat in order to come to the aid of the rest of the team. Changes

After a sea rescue Heatwave took part in resulted in everyone's midwinter holiday presents sinking to the bottom of the ocean, Heatwave and the rest of the team took on the mantle of the Rider of Midwinter and delivered loaves of bread to the townsfolk. The Riders of Midwinter When a Power Planter was struck by lightning and ran wild, the team was forced to respond to a number of emergencies caused by it. They eventually succeeded in luring it into a trap using Boil Coils and Heatwave tricked it into driving off a cliff. Movers and Shakers During Chief Burns's absence from the island, the team found itself under Woodrow's leadership. Chief Woodrow

While the other Rescue Bots prepared for Bumblebee's visit, Heatwave utilized his new boat mode to help Cody and Frankie test Doc Greene's new Ski-neakers, and rescued the pair when a wave threatened them. Bumblebee turned out to be on the hunt for a relic, and Heatwave helped in the search. Afterwards he and Kade helped rescue people when a right whale sank the ferry. Odd Bot Out The rescue team was roped into completing a rail tunnel to the mainland, mainly because Mayor Luskey regarded the Bots as heavy machinery. When the Griffin Rock Express went out of control, the Bots had to rescue everyone on board, with the help of Frankie and her phasing technology. The Griffin Rock Express

Following a game of Rescue Ball which was interrupted by an impromptu rescue, Chase and the others found that Blades was acting strangely. They discovered why when they were abducted by Dr Morocco and replaced by duplicates as Blades had been earlier. Morocco erased their memories and convinced them he had been appointed their Earth liaison by Optimus Prime. The Rescue Bots were promptly sent on a mission to mine gold under Griffin Rock, which barely got started before they trigged a methane explosion, and were confronted by the "criminal" Burns family. Double Villainy

The suspicious Bots were taken back to the fire house, where the evidence soon convinced them that the Burns family was on their side and they'd been misled by Morocco. Unfortunately the methane explosion cause the island to begin to sink, and given the choice between helping out or regaining their memories, the Bots chose the former option, though at least Heatwave was restored to his position as team leader. With the help of some tech from Doc Greene, the team was able to raise the island once again, and Morocco was forced to restore their memories. Rise of the Heroes

During a routine inspection by Optimus, Heatwave led his team to Wayward Island to investigate a pterodactyl appearance. The Rescue Bots found a group of dinosaurs which chased them into a tar pit, and they had to be rescued by Optimus Prime. Once they established what the dinos were upset about, the team was able to get them to return to the underground cavern they'd come from. Land Before Prime When Optimus was abducted by big game hunter Quint Quarry, Heatwave, Chase and Blades headed to Quarry's island to mount a rescue. The hunter managed to trap them in a cage and was about to take them off the island in his heli-jet when Optimus and Boulder came to their aid. Big Game

Where's Breakdown when you need him?

Kade's obnoxious behavior led Heatwave to "accidentally" soak him while the team was rounding up clones of Mister Pettypaws created by the Imaging Device. Shortly thereafter another test of the device resulted int the creation of four more Kades, and Heatwave was amused when the Kades argued amongst themselves, though not so much when their squabbling almost caused an accident. The Kades later saved Heatwave and the rest of the team from a gas leak. Too Many Kades The team was sent ten years forward in time when they boarded the S.S. Phantom Voyager, however Boulder and Graham were able to reverse the time machine stored in the ship's hold, returning them to present day. Phantom of the Sea

Heatwave related the story of the Energon eater to Cody one story night. Following a flooding disaster, Heatwave allowed Chase and Boulder to go into space to attempt to help the stricken ship that had sent out the original distress call, and had to attempt to cover for the pair in their absence. Unfinished Business After the town was sealed inside an energy dome by Vigil, Heatwave and the others pursued the AI to try to beat it to the dome controls in the lab, but both Heatwave and Boulder ended up stuck under old cars in the scrapyard. No Place Like Dome

In addition to helping Graham with his love life, Heatwave and the rest of the team had to deal with mutant metal-eating army ants courtesy of Doctor Morocco. Bugs in the System During a trip on the space elevator Asgard, Heatwave switched bodies with Kade, allowing him to experience the delights of toothaches and human dentistry. He was very relieved when they got switched back. Switcheroo When Kade accidentally ingested scrubmites, Heatwave and the rest of the team were shrunk to microscopic size and flew the Sigma into his body to deal with the critters. Heatwave had fun roping the mites, but when they were forced to strap them to the hull of the ship, he had to prevent them escaping before the ship could leave Kade's body. Bot-Tastic Voyage

Following Professor Baranova's abduction at the hands of Colonel Quarry, Heatwave scanned a brachiosaurus alternate mode so he and the other Rescue Bots, plus Optimus, could masquerade as the dinobots Quarry wanted Doc Greene to build. They were taken to an island by Quarry and put through their paces, before he took them to a boat so he could ship them off to be sold. Luckily Blades, who'd been having trouble with his alternate mode, was able to rescue them and Quarry was arrested. Quarry's Quarry The team visited Wayward Island to search for an energon trace. They found only a caveman frozen in ice, who turned out to be still alive once he was thawed back in Griffin Rock. While the others helped "Ira" acclimate, Heatwave and Blades returned to Wayward Island and found cave paintings depicting Autobots in the caveman's era. Did You See What I Thaw?

Heatwave, that's inappropriate!

The team had to cope with giant Kaiju created when Doc Greene's new projector was used to screen Attack of Humungado, and ended up using their dino modes to combat the beasts. The Attack of Humungado The mayor decided to honor the rescue team by holding Bot Appreciation Week, however a clash in schedules resulted in the Burns family being off the island for the start. The Rescue Bots found they had to contend with the souvenir versions of themselves running amok thanks to Evan and Myles reprogramming them. All Bots Great and Small

When Cody began experiencing repeated time, his foreknowledge allowed the rescue team to prevent a number of disasters and mishaps during the dedication of the town's new clock tower. Time After Time When the mayor accidentally set fire to Founders' Day, Heatwave and Kade put it out, but the indignant mayor suspended the team on account of the fact that the Burns family was descended from a pirate. A series of clues led the team to find the treasure and they were able to persuade the mayor to reinstate them. Pirates Ahoy

After being rescued from a whirlpool by High Tide, Heatwave found himself and his team placed under the new Autobot's command for some water training. Chafing under High Tide's command, Heatwave eventually snapped and quit the training, but later he led the operation to secure an oil spill, and High Tide accepted he'd been too harsh on the Rescue Bots. Turning the Tide During a visit by the time traveler Jules Verne, Heatwave helped apprehend Dr Morocco. He was surprised to learn that Verne had met him on another occasion which hadn't yet happened for Heatwave. The Last of Morocco

"One o' these days, Blurr, one o' these days: POW!! Straight to Cybertron!"

After the Rescue Bots found Salvage and Blurr on Wayward Island, Optimus assigned the pair to be trained by Heatwave's team. Heatwave was unimpressed with the brash Blurr beating him in a race by cheating, and bungling a rescue, and even less so when it turned out Blurr had been lying about his past, but Optimus convinced him to give Blurr another chance. The New Recruits Heatwave grew ever more frustrated with Blurr's lack of progress, especially when Blurr botched a rescue and then took a joyride through town and almost exposed the Rescue Bots' secret, leading Heatwave to tell Chief he was going to contact Optimus to get rid of Blurr. Rescue Bots Academy He was even less impressed when Blurr stole the Sigma, leaving the rescue team with a big problem when a solar flare knocked out the town's power. After Blurr saved the town from a falling satellite, Heatwave was more disposed to giving him another chance, though Optimus reassigned Blurr and Salvage elsewhere anyway. A New Hero

When Servo appeared to be causing damage around town, Heatwave conceded that they might need to send the dog back to High Tide, however it turned out Servo had actually been helping people, and Heatwave changed his mind. Four-Legged Hero Heatwave opted out of guard duties when Boulder found a family of endangered woodpeckers. He was proven right when the Rescue Bots activities resulted in the town finding out about the birds and damaging their habitat. Endangered Species

After Chase was put in charge of dispatch due to an injury, Heatwave was unimpressed with him raising several false alarms. Once Chase solved a mystery and saved Maura the Magnificent from going over Griffin Falls, Heatwave declared him fit for duty again. More than Meets the Eye When Doc Greene's Tone-O-Tuner caused everyone in town to sing instead of talk, Heatwave refused to say anything until there was an emergency at the town hall. To his relief, they found and shut down the Tone-O-Tuner. I Have Heard the Robots Singing

Heatwave continued to grow discontent that the people they saved thought they were mere robots. He and the other Rescue Bots took part in the opening of a time capsule, during which a quantum crystal mishap resulted in the entire island being teleported to the Arctic. The four Bots had to deice the generators so that the island's dome could be raised. Now and Then Heatwave had to rescue Blades and Dani after they made an attempt to go for help. As the team enacted a plan to fill the dome with floatium and fly the island back, the Rescue Bots had their work cut out keeping people safe. The journey continued, but the Rescue Bots were forced to use their own energon to power the dome. They successfully reached Griffin Rock's old location, and after some medical attention, the Rescue Bots recovered. Optimus then gave them a new mission: to let the rest of the town in on their secret. Today and Forever

Three years on, Heatwave had still not let the team reveal themselves out of worry that the townsfolk would react badly. He finally succeeded in contacting Optimus and received orders to build a new mainland base, though the fact that they would need to work with the humans still didn't change his mind. Finally an invasion by the Velgrox forced his hand. New Normal He quickly became discontent with the new attention he and the others were receiving, opting to test the new GroundBridge rather than prepare for a town meeting. After accidentally ending up in the Sahara, he and the rest of the team fronted up to the townfolk, who voted to keep their secret. Bridge Building

An attempt at racing with Blades resulted in Heatwave accidentally demolishing Mr Cullen's rocket. As a result Heatwave decided the team would focus on their duties rather than pursuing their own pastimes. Another GroundBridge accident sent him and Chase to the mainland, and resulted in them bringing a car back to the island who later turned out to be the Rescue Bot Quickshadow. Arrivals Irritated by Quickshadow lecturing them and defeating him in a sparring match, Heatwave placed her in charge of an operation to move Phodolite through town. The mission hit a snag when the Heatwave lost part of the load, resulting in the team having to use Chase's plan B when Quickshadow didn't have one. Plus One

Following a mishap in which the town pool froze over, the team visited the Fun Zone where Heatwave joined Chief, Cody and Frankie in a round of Element Quest, only to discover it had been invaded by the Morocco virus. Back to Virtual Reality When investors were looking at redeveloping the island, the Rescue Bots used Velgrox technology to make themselves invisible and pretend to be ghosts to scare them off. Vanishing Returns

The team took part in Earliween celebrations, and also came up with a plan to foil Evan and Myles when the pair tried to carnap Quickshadow. Ghost in the Machine When Whiskers was abducted from the zoo, the Rescue Bots used their dino modes as bait to lure big game hunter Lord Chumley. Though they themselves were captured, they made the most of their situation, both finding Whiskers and bringing the rest of the team to help arrest Chumley. Enemy of My Enemy When the opportunity came up, Heatwave was in favor of Chase running for mayor to prove that the Bots were equal in the community to humans. He soon changed his mind after Chase actually took office and the changes he made interfered with the Rescue Team doing their job. Mayor May Not

When Boulder wanted to celebrate All Spark Day, Heatwave believe they should stick to the holidays celebrated in their new home. After dealing with a water rescue and a giant-sized CeCe Greene, the Bots found the whole town had decided to celebrate All Spark Day, and Heatwave acted as a substitute for the energon fountain. All Spark Day When the town's communications tower required replacing, the team took on second jobs — Heatwave helped Kade entertain children's parties. The townsfolk later chipped in with enough cash to replace the tower. Part-Time Heroes

When the day finally came to open the mainland Rescue Bot Training Center, Heatwave found himself having to dial the others back with the partying. After the building was transformed, he attempted to return to Griffin Rock with Cody, only to discover that the GroundBridge was malfunctioning. The More Things Change... He, Kade and Cody were assigned the task of repairing the center's holographic cloak, and with Blades's help, managed to do so before the base could be discovered. The More Things Stay the Same

During a series of motor races, the Bots had to first deal with a collapsing stand full of spectators, and then with runaway racers thanks to an errant invention. Hot Rod Bot Heatwave accompanied Blades, Chief and Dani to Africa when Woodrow Burns appeared to need help, and ended up helping a family of gorillas survive baboons and an erupting volcano. King Burns During the town's Pizza Pi Party, the team had to deal with a rapidly-expanding monster mound of pizza dough. Pizza Pi Party

While running practice drills in the Training Center, the team had to save a Cybertronian ship that crash-landed. When it turned out Bumblebee was on board, the Rescue Bots took him on a tour of the center, however Heatwave and Chase were attacked and knocked out by an energon eater than had come down with the craft. Once it was captured, the others revived them. Uninvited Guest When Blades, Graham and Cody uncovered Chickadee's operation to find some lost gems, the rest of the team managed to apprehend her. Camp Cody

Heatwave and Kade accompanied Cody and Frankie into the woods to make a delivery to Mrs Neederlander, only to find themselves having to search for her. After finding her and briefly being trapped in a cave, the group managed to meet up with the rest of the team. Once Upon a Time After an attempt to drill Blurr on rescuing was less than successful, Heatwave and the rest of the team found themselves having to deal with the escaped Mini-Con Bounce and Sideswipe, a member of Bumblebee's team. The Need for Speed

When Madeline Pynch got hold of a chunk of Energon, the rescue team put into action a plan to recover the Energon and arrest Pynch. Heatwave (under the code name Thunder) and Chief were dropped into Pynch's compound by Blades, and managed to find Pynch's hoarded tech before she caught them, though they escaped having their memories wiped thanks to switching the tech and ultimately Pynch went to jail Cody's 11 The Bots found themselves having to maintain their robot disguises when Maven Danger stayed at the firehouse as research for his new movie, though it later turned out the visit was just so Maven's agent Skip Scobble could attempt to steal a rare book. A Brush with Danger

When Dani's test space mission ran into trouble, the team headed into space in the Sigma to mount a rescue, with Heatwave providing the first stage to a jetpack-assisted Rescue Bot rocket. To Infinity... And Back Kade and Heatwave tried to get Cody interested in firefighting when the boy was deciding what sort of rescue worker he'd become. Family Business

The team was surprised to discover a whole town in China knew about them, when they were called there to deal with some out-of-control Scrubbers. Afterwards Optimus promptly reassigned them, with Heatwave leading a team on Griffin Rock consisting of Salvage and Servo. When it turned out the Morocco virus was back and had built a new MorBot, Heatwave managed to blow it up by boobytrapping the GroundBridge. Upgrades Unfortunately when he, Kade and Cody returned to the Training Center, they found it under Morocco's control and had to hastily retreat. When Morocco set his sights on abducting Cody, Heatwave's team attempted in vain to protect the boy, but Heatwave was later able to pick up him and Frankie after they dropped Morocco into an undersea trench. Optimus later assigned Heatwave and Kade to train new recruits. Transformations

• Heatwave the Fire-Bot (Rescue Bot, 2011)

Heatwave transforms into a red and grey fire engine of likely fictitious origin. In keeping with the simple transformation scheme of the line, Heatwave transforms from vehicle mode to robot mode by simply pulling up the ladder and folding down the feet.

Due to the placement of his ladder on his back, it is actually possible for the human figures to hitch a ride on Heatwave's back in robot mode; the rungs on the ladder are just thin enough to allow for one of their hands to slip around and the thumb on that hand to fit in the hollow area on the back of said rung.

• Electronic Fire Station Prime (Playset, 2011)

A Heatwave vehicle is included with the Fire Station Prime playset. It "transforms" much like Robot Powered Machines Mini-Vehicles. An image of Heatwave is molded on the bottom of the vehicle and it can be stood up on end.

The original Heatwave toy was released as part of the Energize line, retooled to add sockets into the top of his emergency lights, and with translucent blue plastic. Also added is a "water" cannon in the same plastic which can slot into the new sockets. The word "water" is in scare quotes in the product descriptions because the "water" cannon doesn't actually shoot water.

Available in a two-pack with Kade Burns, Heatwave is a non-transforming figure but possesses more in the way of articulation than previous Heatwave toys, in addition to being more show accurate. His left hand is replaced by a fire ax.

• Heatwave the Fire-Bot (Flip Changer, 2013)

A highly simplified version of Heatwave with show-accurate detailing. He transforms into a super-deformed fire engine—pulling out the lever on the rear of Heatwave's vehicle mode causes him to drive forwards before doing a frontwards flip to autotransform into robot mode, popping his head up and his arms outwards.

Heatwave is a non-transforming figure with no articulation, mounted on a rocky base. Inserting him into the Beam Box Game System unlocks Heatwave in the game.

As part of the Epic Figures, Heatwave is an 12-inch tall non-transforming figure with basic articulation. His chest open up to fit 2-Pack human figures, and he features 5mm ports to interact with Energize rescue tools.

• Heatwave the Rescue Dinobot (Electronic toy, 2014)

This new Heatwave figure is a non-transforming Brontosaurus featuring electronic lights and sounds.

• Elite Rescue Heatwave (Megabot, 2016)

Part of the first wave of Mega Bots figures, Heatwave changes from a longer and larger version of his original fire truck alt-mode in a few easy steps. He features a removeable ladder with water cannons which can peg onto his arm or his back. His left arm has a flip-out capture claw. Additionally, he has 5mm compatible fist holes and his vehicle mode has several pegs for accommodating human figures.

His ladder uses a hexagonal link-up point that is also used for the cranes on both Rescue Rig and Megabot versions of High Tide, as well as (strangely) the gasoline pump included with the Griffin Rock Garage set, making all of those parts interchangeable.

• Night Rescue Heatwave (Megabot, 2016)

Part of the third wave of Mega Bots figures, Heatwave is a slight recolor of the figure listed above and retains all of its gimmickry.

• Hook & Ladder Heatwave (2016)

Part of a larger "deluxe" range of toys under the broader Playskool Heroes banner, Hook & Ladder Heatwave is a smaller, more show-like re-make of his original toy (in line with the "Rescan" assortment of his teammates), transforming from fire truck to robot and back with a single step triggered by swinging his truck-mode back end/leg down. He comes with a large trailer unit with a moving ladder rig equipped with a spring-loaded "water burst" launcher. The rig can transform into a gauntlet that kids (or adults with small arms) can wear.

The package back calls out that Heatwave's back-ladder is removable and can be attached to the trailer, but it takes way too much force to do and doesn't feel like it's actually supposed to. Also, the ladder has been molded in a way that makes the tops of the steps incorrectly aligned when attached, causing them to face sideways.

The cab-robot was also included in the "Griffin Rock Rescue Team Set" with no notable changes.

• Griffin Rock Rescue Team Set (4-pack, 2016)

This box set contains the "Hook & Ladder Heatwave" cab-robot minus the trailer unit, and the show-based "Rescan" versions of Boulder, Blades, and Chase. All four toys are identical to their individual releases (with the obvious exception of the missing trailer).

• Heatwave the Fire-Bot (Rescan, 2017)

Part of the thirteenth wave of the Rescan series, Heatwave is another new body for the character which changes from robot to two-headed dragon and back in a single step.
