The name or term "Skywarp" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Skywarp (disambiguation).
Skywarp is a Decepticon from the Generation 1 continuity family.
Skywarp, Decepticon Stair-Pusher-Downer

Teleportation is a dangerous tool in the hands of a capable adversary. Thankfully for the Autobots, Skywarp is the only Decepticon who possesses that ability. Skywarp's not so bright, so without supervision he's worthless as a warrior. He mostly uses his teleportation power for immature pranks on both friend and foe. He takes a charmingly puerile angle at thuggery, so his pranks are well-received amongst his Decepticon peers (excepting the victim, of course).

Because, come on, a surprise push down a staircase is hilarious.

Sometimes he is known as Hellwarp.

Don't think. Just do it.Skywarp's life motto, Megatron Origin #4

Fiction

Marvel Comics continuity

"THIS is how Jet Judo's really done, you amateurs!"

Skywarp was one of Megatron's troops which attacked the Ark and were thus left dormant under Mount St. Hilary for four million years.

He served thereafter under both Megatron and Shockwave until he was deactivated by Omega Supreme in battle and placed in stasis by the Autobots. He would then be further damaged by the future Decepticon Galvatron when the Autobots used him as a decoy for Starscream to as a plan to convince Galvatron he was in an alternate timeline.

Then, when the Constructicons recovered him (along with various other victims of Omega) and he was reactivated to be one of Ratbat's troops, he didn't last long before being destroyed by the Underbase-powered Starscream.

Thereafter, depending on which splinter timeline you follow, he was either:

  • Reactivated by Bludgeon's Decepticons, and then served under Megatron again when the Pretender was killed by his old boss. Generation 2
  • Rebuilt, with his memory restored from old backups, by Megatron and the severed head of Shockwave before briefly falling under the control of Bug Bite Classicsverse
  • Turned into a zombie-like puppet by Megatron, until his body was ultimately vaporised by the Autobots. Regeneration One

Skywarp was one of the elite Decepticons that served Megatron on Cybertron millions of years ago. In the early days of the Decepticon rebellion, he and Thundercracker both faced the powerful protectors of Cybertron's cities, the Guardian robots; even millions of years later, the powerful Guardians struck fear into Skywarp's laser core. War Dawn

"Does this planet have stairs? Please tell me it has stairs."

Four million years ago, Skywarp and his fellow Seekers were stationed a mega-mile out from the bridge to Iacon when Autobots Wheeljack and Bumblebee returned from pilfering energy conductors. Once Wheeljack broke through their defenses, Skywarp and Thundercracker transformed to their tetrajet modes and followed the Autobots. They managed to get a good shot in against Bumblebee, but soon both Autobots escaped termination by taking the chase underground. Skywarp later joined Megatron in attacking and boarding the Autobot ship on their search for energy. After crash-landing on Earth, the Decepticons and Autobots laid dormant for four million years, until volcanic activity stirred the ship's computer back to life. Skywarp was the first of the ship's Transformers to be reformatted and awakened by Teletraan I, in the form of an Earthly F-15 fighter jet. Once active, Skywarp immediately dragged his master Megatron's body into the reformatting rays of the Autobot ship's computer, and soon all the Decepticons were revived. More than Meets the Eye, Part 1

Since the Decepticons were so badly short-staffed during their early days on Earth, Skywarp was usually involved in whatever crazy plot for universal domination Megatron was hatching. This included attacks on an off-shore oil rig, Sherman Dam and the ruby crystal mines of Burma. On the last raid, Skywarp and Thundercracker caught a pair of snoops — Bumblebee and the human, Sparkplug Witwicky, and were knocking the little Autobot around for fun, pondering how to giftwrap him for Megatron, when an explosive the pair had planted detonated and caved the mine in around them. More than Meets the Eye, Part 2

Leeeet's do the Skywarp agaaaiin!!

When the Decepticons escaped the Burma operation with a cache of energon cubes, Skywarp requested permission from Megatron to teleport in order to scare off Autobot pursuers. Teleporting behind the airborne duo of Ironhide and Bluestreak, Skywarp pasted the ornery old Autobot with a heat-seeking missile, knocking him out of the sky. Subsequently, when the Autobots laid siege to the Decepticons' staging base, Skywarp wielded his leader in pistol mode against their attackers. More than Meets the Eye, Part 3

When Bumblebee was caught spying on the Decepticons' new space bridge, Skywarp and Starscream captured him for Megatron. After Bumblebee was reprogrammed to lead the Autobots into a trap, Skywarp biffed Prowl from behind, causing him to fall down in an almost pushing-down-stairs-like fashion. Transport to Oblivion

There's no way Skywarp could resist the temptation to push a handicapped kid down the stairs.
You little fool... You're no match for Skywarp!

—Skywarp announces his superiority to a kid in a wheelchair., "Roll for It"

After the Decepticons acquired an antimatter formula, they were en route to Autobot Headquarters when Sunstreaker and Sideswipe intercepted them, practicing their jet judo maneuvers. Skywarp was being thrown off-course by Sideswipe's antics until Starscream knocked the Autobot warrior loose. During the battle, Megatron charged himself up with the Decepticons' new toy, and transformed into an "anti-matter gun" to obliterate the Autobots. When Megatron was knocked from Starscream's grip, Skywarp snatched him up to get in on the action, but before he could start blasting, Spike Witwicky attacked his leg with a jackhammer. He scooped up the puny fleshling and was about to blast him with the anti-matter gun (and, incidentally, probably blow his own hand off in the process) when Chip Chase attached a computer override device invented by Wheeljack, which allowed Teletraan I to take brief control of his body. Skywarp started firing Megatron's anti-matter power at the other Decepticons, overheating the unstable power supply and forcing the Decepticons to retreat. Roll for It

"With this, I can power my own perpetual-stairpushing machine!"

Skywarp was later part of a Decepticon raid on a factory, apparently in a very playful mood with his teleporting power. First he 'ported behind some human guards to taunt them before making them scatter with laser fire. Then, when Thundercracker blasted open some power lines to begin filling his energon cubes, Skywarp "cut in line" by teleporting between Thundercracker and the energy to fill his own cube first. When Optimus Prime showed up to stop them, Skywarp fired a heat-seeking missile at him, only for Prime to deflect it with a punch. The Autobot was eventually defeated, and Skywarp ran off with some energon cubes. Divide and Conquer

When the Decepticons began draining heat energy out of Earth's core using a crystal shaft in the Arctic, Skywarp got a bit bored at the lack of real action. He was in the middle of taunting Rumble when the two of them accidentally caused a miniature avalanche in one of the caves. By sheer happenstance, this led to the Decepticons recovering the long-lost Skyfire from an icy tomb. Skywarp helped perform repairs on the giant flier, though it was probably better for all concerned if somebody with actual knowledge had performed these repairs. Fire in the Sky

During a battle at Great Falls hydroelectric power facility, the newly constructed Dinobots arrived to rescue the beleaguered Autobots, who had been captured by the Decepticons. Skywarp foolishly attempted to beat the flamethrowing Slag with a mere pair of heat-seeking missiles, and ended up being grabbed out of the air by the mighty jaws of Grimlock, who chomped on his wing and threw Skywarp into his fellow Megatron loyalist Soundwave. S.O.S. Dinobots Soon afterwards, during an operation in Peru, Skywarp got to be Megatron's favorite Seeker for the day after Starscream and Thundercracker stole poor-quality steel for their latest super-weapon. He had fun taunting the egotistic Starscream when Megatron called him to battle, leaving the other Seekers behind on mere guard duty. Fire on the Mountain Later, Skywarp helped Megatron steal a giant meteor, although its unstable power proved too dangerous to use for energon cubes. War of the Dinobots

"I noticed that your palace has a very long flight of stairs, I have an idea how to get some entertainment..."

Skywarp was in a playful mood during the Decepticons' raid of a solar power plant in India, cracking wise and hoping to play a game of catch... with the maharaja he had captured as the ball. He had even more fun in a quick free-for-all with the Autobots, a distraction so that the Decepticons could kidnap one of the Autobots' fleshling friends as a guinea pig for Doctor Arkeville's mind-control experiments. Skywarp enjoyed himself so much, he got in a fight with Starscream on the way back to headquarters about how brilliant Megatron's plan was. Thundercracker had to jump out of the way while the two of them roughhoused in the elevator. The Ultimate Doom, Part 1 Thanks in part to Arkeville's hypno-chip slaves, the Decepticons were able to bring Cybertron into Earth's orbit, creating massive environmental disturbances that produced millions of energon cubes. What's more, transporting energon to Cybertron was now just a short flight away. Unfortunately, the devastation was greater than Megatron had anticipated. While Skywarp was on a return flight from Cybertron, a tidal wave broke off the access tower to the Decepticons' undersea base, flooding it. The Ultimate Doom, Part 2 Skywarp was present at the final battle before the Autobots knocked Cybertron out of orbit, and fled when Megatron abandoned his troops to escape with the energon cubes. The Ultimate Doom, Part 3 With Megatron seemingly destroyed as his star cruiser exploded with the cubes on board, the Decepticons were left rudderless. While working on repairs for their undersea base, tempers flared as Skywarp picked a fight with his favorite target, Rumble, and his pint-sized partner, Frenzy. Skywarp bit off more than he could chew, however, as Frenzy's surprising strength overcame Skywarp as he tried to crush the mini-cassette beneath his heel. Thundercracker and Soundwave started to get involved in the fracas too, but Megatron soon arrived to put his house back in order. Countdown to Extinction

What you see when he pushes you down the stairs.

Like all Decepticons, Skywarp provided his power chip rectifier to Megatron for his single combat with Optimus Prime. Heavy Metal War When the Decepticons attacked another rocket base, Skywarp and Thundercracker attempted to double-team Optimus Prime, but only succeeded in destroying the very rockets they came to plunder. Autobot Spike Later, the Decepticons attacked a mining camp to lure the Autobots out into the open, and Skywarp stood guard over the humans being used as bait. After they used the opportunity to kidnap Gears for his special circuit board, Skywarp later helped fill the energon cubes from Megatron's Solar Needle. Changing Gears As the Decepticons took over New York to create the city of New Cybertron, Skywarp was seen loading cars into Mixmaster's drum for reconstruction. He and Thundercracker were later damaged after trying to take some potshots at Optimus Prime, only to miss and crash straight through a building in the process. City of Steel He also served in a later assault on the Ark, distracting the Autobots long enough for Megatron to sneak inside and mess with their recharging chambers. Attack of the Autobots

Rather stoic in recent weeks, Skywarp was back to his cheery but malicious self when he and Starscream went after some electro-cells at the Experimental Energy Research Laboratory. While breaking through the roof of the installation, Skywarp merrily remarked on the joy of opening presents. During a fight with the Autobot named Mirage, one of Skywarp's insignia was ripped off, and later planted to help turn the Insecticons against the Decepticons. Traitor During a battle with the Autobots over the Immobilizer, Skywarp unleashed his new toy: a bouncer bomb. This weapon ricocheted through the trees, explosively bouncing from one side of the battlefield to another. Unfortunately, the Decepticons were also subject to its "friendly fire" until Megatron shot the blasted thing down. The Immobilizer

"Spraying graffiti isn't quite as much fun as pushing Starscream down some stairs...But it's okay, I guess..."

Skywarp's teleportation power did come in useful when he was needed to sneak up on the Autobots with the Transfixatron. One quick zap and they were all frozen in vehicle mode. However, he failed to zap ALL the Autobots, which ultimately led to the undoing of Megatron's scheme. The Autobot Run Skywarp was present during the Decepticon alliance with Sub-Atlantica, and was part of their attack on Washington D.C. He and Thundercracker strafed the Autobots while in battle on the Great Lawn. Atlantis, Arise! When the Decepticons stole the ninja robot Nightbird, Skywarp used his grapples to pull the roof off the demonstration amphitheater, allowing Starscream and Thundercracker to swoop in and grab the robot. Enter the Nightbird

Skywarp and his flying buddies once attempted to triple-team Optimus Prime in battle, but failed to do more than provide Optimus with a chance to toss a good quip. Strangely, Skywarp was later seen throwing what looking like a standard pineapple grenade at the Autobots. It was effective enough, but looked as out of place as an AK or a tommygun in Transformer hands. A Prime Problem When the Decepticons made yet another attempt at harnessing some sort of power from the Earth's core, Skywarp defended their drilling operation from the Autobots. He and the Seekers attempted to bomb the Autobots from the air, but a scattering of explosive missiles from Bluestreak's shoulder launchers took them out of the fight. The Core

"Would you aim at something other Autobots standing on top of the stairs?!"
"Never!!"

During the assault on Iron Mountain, Skywarp was briefly taken over by Bombshell's cerebro-shells during a tiff between Megatron and the Insecticons. The Insecticon Syndrome He also joined the Decepticon expedition to Dinobot Island, to loot and plunder its various sources of energy. Skywarp was eager to do battle with the Dinobots when they arrived to defend their new home...which just goes to show Skywarp's kinda stupid. Dinobot Island, Part 1 When the Autobots eventually arrived to help drive the Decepticons off Dinobot Island, they were aided by a band of dinosaurs themselves, prodded onward by Grimlock. Skywarp and Thundercracker found their lasers ineffective against the charging brutes, and were forced to retreat with the rest of their army. Dinobot Island, Part 2

"It's the Seekers that go swimming with little, hairy women!!"

During some aerial dogfighting with the Autobot ace, Powerglide, Skywarp took a nasty hit to the wing. He must have managed to limp back to base, because he was present for Megatron's interrogation of the Constructicons a short while later. The Master Builders When the Decepticons went after Wheeljack's latest super-weapon, the Negavator, Skywarp and the Seekers strafed the Autobot convoy in a box canyon. Their efforts were blocked by Smokescreen's disruptor beams and magnetic smoke, which left the Seekers unable to see or navigate in any way. Skywarp and Thrust ended up in a three-way collision with each other and a canyon wall. Auto Berserk Once, the Decepticons were pre-emptively celebrating the destruction of the Autobots after Megatron acquired the Heart of Cybertron. They got over-energized on energon cubes and passed out in the desert. Five'll get you ten, whoever passed out closest to Skywarp woke up with a Scraplet drawn on their face in permanent marker. Microbots

Skywarp was a participant in the ultimate prank against the Autobots. Using Autobot costumes left over from last Halloween, Skywarp and some others raided an oil refinery for fuel, only to be driven off when the "heroic" Decepticons arrived to stop the "evil" Autobots. The entire scene was filmed by Shawn Berger and used to smear the Autobots' good name so severely that they were forced to abandon Earth entirely in a rocket cruiser. Ha HA! Megatron's Master Plan, Part 1 The fleshlings didn't appreciate the joke when they found out the punchline, but Skywarp and the Decepticons were too busy enslaving Central City to care. As bad luck would have it, though, the Autobots managed to make their way back to Earth, and drive off the Decepticon occupation. Killjoys. Megatron's Master Plan, Part 2

"My name is Skywarp Montoya. You killed my stairs. Prepare to die."

When the Decepticons set up a temporary base of operations at the airport, Optimus Prime sent in the Dinobots to clear them out. Skywarp and the other jets were caught off-guard initially, but the Decepticons had learned from previous encounters that the Dinobots were more vulnerable in their robot modes. By feigning defeat, Skywarp and the others lured the Dinobots into a false sense of security, and they transformed back to robot mode. Skywarp and Megatron then unleashed a barrage of energy, igniting the jumbo jets on the tarmac and causing the Dinobots tremendous damage. The Decepticons finally scored a decent victory against the Dinos, and they owed it all to a dirty underhanded sneak attack. It was a good day to be Skywarp. Desertion of the Dinobots, Part 1

Skywarp joined the Decepticons on a mission to Great Britain, A Decepticon Raider in King Arthur's Court after which, like most of the Decepticons, he was rendered temporarily invulnerable due to exposure to electrum. Invincibility didn't make him any better a prison guard, though, as even Beachcomber was able to overpower him and escape from the Decepticons' undersea headquarters. The Golden Lagoon Skywarp was seen delivering the Insecticons' share of the energon harvested from their clones using Megatron's energon transference process. Since the meager three cubes the Insecticons got were a small pittance compared to how many were actually being generated, Skywarp was surely snickering to himself as he handed them over. Quest for Survival When the space bridge materialized in the middle of a baseball stadium, Skywarp and Soundwave got into a friendly game of catch...with flesh-creatures as the ball. Then the Autobots had to show up and ruin their fun. Child's Play

"HERE'S my F$%#@ing authorization!"

When Skywarp and the Seekers kidnapped a group of Earth's world leaders, they ran into the Aerialbots during their getaway. Skywarp nearly nailed Slingshot with a loop-the-loop, coming down on him from above, but was shot down by Skydive. War Dawn A while later, Skywarp and Thundercracker were guarding the space bridge when Starscream, recently banished from the Decepticon ranks, arrived. Refusing him access without proper authorization, Skywarp quickly accepted that having a null ray shoved in his faced was good enough authorization for him, and the pair allowed Starscream to travel to Cybertron. Starscream's Brigade

A different way of being "Called to arms."

Starscream's schemes resulted in the creation of the Combaticons, who soon joined with the main Decepticon force, but when they went missing, Megatron ordered Skywarp to visit their headquarters to check up on their progress in the latest Decepticon scheme. Upon finding a trail of Combaticon parts leading from the base, Skywarp just gawped at the debris until an exasperated Megatron had to instruct him to follow the trail. He and Starscream found Swindle at the end of the trail, dumping off junked Combaticon parts, and dragged him back to base. Soon after, Skywarp took part in the Decepticons' attack on Autobot Headquarters using their orbit disruptor cannon. B.O.T.

In 2005, Skywarp was part of a massive Decepticon attack on Autobot City on Earth. He was badly damaged during the battle, but managed to escape with the rest of his comrades aboard Astrotrain. However, en route to Cybertron he was tossed out into space with other badly damaged Decepticons so that the rest would be able to make it home. Skywarp's body was gathered by Unicron and, among others, used to make Galvatron's new warriors. The Transformers: The Movie

Skywarp’s involvement in these events, or events mostly similar, were also chronicled in the comic mini-series “Transformers: The Animated Movie.”
Depending on the continuity, Skywarp became either Cyclonus or Cyclonus's Armada. See various sections below for details.

Under orders from Megatron, Skywarp accompanied Starscream and Thundercracker in an energy raid on Tokyo. Things were going well, as they enjoyed bombing pedestrians and children while screaming their demands for energy to the Heavens, at least until Optimus Prime and a unit of Autobot vehicles arrived. Though their victory seemed assured when they unleashed Menasor on their foes, their strategy was undone when the Autobots drove up a ramp at top speed, transformed to vehicle mode and punched everybody in the face. Skywarp was forced to retreat. Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers #1

Skywarp later took part in an all-out assault on Autobot Headquarters in Arizona. The attack was nothing more than a diversion so Soundwave could go do unspecified stuff in Japan and the Decepticons were eventually defeated and driven off. Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers #2

Scramble City: Mobilization

When the Decepticons succeeded in locating the construction site of the Autobots' Scramble City project, Skywarp joined Starscream, Thundercracker, and the Constructicons in an attack on the hidden facility. Macrocosmic Seekers

In 2010, Galvatron, Cyclonus and Scourge were captured by the alien Seeker, who used his powers over space and time to revert them to the moment of their transformation by Unicron, intending to freeze them in this transitional state and study their recreation. Inadvertently liberated by the Junkion Scrapheap, the Decepticons' remained in this flux-state for a period of time; in Cyclonus's case, his mind and body had partially reverted to being Skywarp. Time to Move In addition to thinking his commander was Megatron, he regained his power of teleportation, which he used to escape the barrage of fire the Seeker unleashed against them. His hat is the fanciest of all hats.

Millions of years ago, Skywarp was one of the Decepticons who battled the Autobots on their home planet of Cybertron, and in outer space. During one such outer space battle, the Decepticons rammed their ship into the Autobots' vessel, and both craft crashed on Earth, where they would lay for four million years until both factions were revived to continue their war on a new world. A Message From Outer Space

When the Decepticons set out on patrol to seek the Autobots, Skywarp searched the skies over Earth's oceans, but had no luck. A report from Laserbeak of a factory building an Autobot army brought Skywarp, Thundercracker and Starscream together for a bombing run, but their bombardment had no effect, as the factory was actually a hologram generate by Mirage to lure the Decepticons into a trap. During the battle that followed, Optimus Prime seized Skywarp and Megatron and hurled them into orbit. Decepticon Patrol

Skywarp was probably among the Decepticon Seekers who battled the Autobots over the captive Buster and Sparkplug Witwicky, and was also probably one of the Seekers who subsequently attacked Hoover Dam. The Deadly Fuel Shortage Skywarp took particular joy in the Decepticons' plan to steal gasoline with a molecular transfer device as he surveyed a road's worth of abandoned human vehicles. As the Autobots came rolling to the rescue, Skywarp was first to spot them and alerted his fellow Decepticons, but the battle was lost when the Autobots were able to turn the molecular transfer device on the Decepticonse themselves, draining their energy supplies. Skywarp and the Decepticons were the first to awake when the Transformers were reactivated on Earth; he and his fellow jets were seen flying out of the Autobots' ship by Sparkplug and Buster Witwicky. After re-energizing themselves using a nuclear power station, Skywarp and his comrades returned to attack the Ark, only to be ambush by the Autobots themselves, disguised in the form of Earth automobiles. Battle for Cybertron

When the Autobots took part in the Big Car Rally, Skywarp attacked Mirage on a coastal road during the first heat, blasting him with missiles and machine guns. He failed to reckon with Mirage's electro-scrambler, however, which short-circuited his systems and sent him crashing into the ocean. The Great Car Rally Later, Skywarp and several other flight-capable Decepticons all joined in buzzing the Autobots' base in a failed attempt to distract them while the other Decepticons hijacked an oil truck. Decepticon Hijack

Skywarp sat around with the other Decepticons listening to Megatron rant about his desire to steal energy from a power plant. He was still there a little later when the Insecticons brought in the mind-controlled Grapple to analyze the plant, and took part in the battle that followed when the Autobots arrived to rescue their friend. After the cerebro-shell controlling Grapple was removed, he turned on Megatron, and the Decepticon leader was sent crashing to several of his troops, including Skywarp. Insecticon Attack!

Terror of Mount Sheelah After helping kidnap some humans for use as slave labor, Skywarp was sent out on guard duty and managed to carelessly let Bumblebee into the base. Disgruntled, he returned to complain to Megatron about having to stand guard, and inadvertently let Bumblebee out again. After failing to track down the Autobot, he faced disciplinary action, which probably only got worse when they discovered that Bumblebee had stolen the global crystal. Bumblebee to the Rescue

When the Decepticons went to conquer Stanley Lake dam, Skywarp hid in the bushes and pranked the other Decepticons with Autobot engine noises. No one was impressed. He and the other Decepticons were defeated when the Autobots lured them in front of the dam and opened the sluice gates. Menace at the Dam Despite being an idiot, Skywarp was still among those Megatron consulted for ideas on getting back at the Autobots. He took part in an attack on Mount Levram on the strength of Starscream's intelligence, and as a result the Decepticon base was destroyed. Espionage!!!!!

As the following stories are multipath adventures, details will vary depending on the path taken. See individual pages for information on alternate paths.

Dinobots Strike Back

In one of many paths ending in an Autobot assault on the Decepticons' superfuel lab in Mount Lomas, Megatron was ready for them, and ordered his warrior jets into the air over Dolphin's Bay. Skywarp scored the first hit of the battle, dropping a heat-seeking missile on the water-bound Topspin. As the only other Autobot present with a boat alt-mode, Seaspray was enraged, and being a large destroyer at the time instead of a hovercraft, he retaliated with a barrage of lasers and missiles all directed at Skywarp. It's not clear if any of them hit, but when Powerglide and Tracks showed up to provide air support, the former's thermal beam did enough damage to the warrior jets in general to allow the Autobots to take the mountain, so Skywarp presumably didn't fare too well. At least he scored the only documented Autobot casualty! Dinobots Strike Back

Battle Drive

In one possible scenario, where Megatron and his troops had tracked down Sparkplug to a cave in the mountains, Skywarp was amongst the Decepticons present, ready to pounce on the human. Then a small squadron of Autobots arrived to rescue Sparkplug. In the event that Megatron was destroyed by Swoop, Skywarp, along with the rest of the Decepticons, were easily defeated by the Autobots. In the event that Swoop retreated, Skywarp was amongst the Decepticons who remained at the cave instead of pursuing the Dinobot. Skywarp stood next to Megatron in a military formation, along with Buzzsaw, Ransack, Shockwave, Frenzy and Thundercracker, while Megatron delivered his sanction to the Autobots in the cave; "Prepare to die!" The battle that ensued lasted for two full days before the Decepticons were ready to move in for the kill. In the event that Swoop returned in time with reinforcements, Skywarp and the rest of the Decepticons were forced to retreat.

In another possible scenario, Skywarp was likely part of a large Decepticon army that Megatron led once the Autobots had been lured out in the open farmland. Skywarp didn't perform any feats of note in the ensuing battle, however. Battle Drive

Earthquake

In one possible scenario, Skywarp encountered an Autobot raid team infiltrating the Decepticons’ newest secret base. Though he was backed up by Buzzsaw and Ramjet, the three of them were felled in one blow by Optimus Prime. Earthquake

Decepticon Poison

"Push Megatron down some stairs? Turn to page 19. Don't push Megatron down some stairs? Turn to page-Wait, wouldn't I push Megatron down some stairs??"

Skywarp was assigned grunt work at the Decepticons’ secret poison lab.

In one possible scenario, Laserbeak, Ramjet and Skywarp were hauling tanks of poison out of the lab when the Autobots returned, after having stolen the antidote to the Decepticon’s poison from right under their noses.

One possible scenario saw the Autobots using Windcharger’s magnetic abilities to levitate the drums of poison above Skywarp and company, and then ignite the poison over the Decepticons’ heads. The Decepticons were forced into a retreat as their lab was then destroyed by Warpath. Decepticon Poison

Project Brain Drain

By sapping all of mankind's mental energy, Galvatron created a planet full of people that do nothing but push each other down some stairs.

Skywarp was stationed at the Decepticons’ lab, charged with guarding the Brain Drain device, with which the Decepticons planned to syphon away the Earthlings’ intelligence and transmute it into energy. In one possible scenario, he was one of the few Decepticons too afraid of Galvatron to desert his post when a squad of Autobots stormed the lab. He was unsuccessful in fending them off. Project Brain Drain

The Official Transformers: Generation 2 Annual

When Starscream returned to the Decepticons' headquarters with some exciting news, Skywarp was impatient to hear it, and threatened to teleport Starscream "somewhere more interesting" if he didn't spit it out quickly. The news, it turned out, was that the Autobots had discovered an ancient spaceship on Table Mountain in Africa that could take them back to Cybertron, so naturally, the Decepticons attacked right away to take it for themselves. Skywarp, Starscream and Ramjet buzzed the Autobots from above, distracting them from the approach of the Decepticons' ground forces as they scaled the mountain. The Decepticons thought they had won when the Autobots retreated, leaving the ship theirs for the taking, but they realized they had been tricked when the vessel proved to be an Autobot trap that blasted them off into space uncontrollably. When Megatron travelled back in time and entered the Ark with the intent of changing history, Skywarp's inert form was prominent among the deactivated Transformers that the Predacon leader flew past. The Agenda (Part III)

3H comics

In 2005, when Unicron rebuilt Skywarp into Cyclonus's Armada, Skywarp was also reprogrammed to obey Cyclonus. Even later, when Skywarp's original personality reasserted itself, that mental link remained. Wreckers: Finale Part II

Though no reason is stated in-story as to how or why or when Skywarp got this new body between the Great War and the Beast Era, Wreckers plotter Glen Hallit noted that Skywarp's body was based on a mass-production body type of its day, similar to Generation 1's Seekers.
Looks like Cyclonus was Bombshell. Neener neener.

After the Decepticons lost the Great War and Maximals and Predacons claimed the planet, another Megatron subjugated nearly every Transformer alive with a transformation-lock virus and an army of Vehicons. Skywarp was one of the handful of Transformers who had slipped through Megatron's fingers, and eventually he and Cyclonus joined up with the legendary strike team, the Wreckers. Given a mission by the Oracle, the Wreckers fought through an army of Vehicons (Cyclonus, Skywarp, and Rotorbolt took care of the Spy Streak drones) to steal an Autobot shuttle in order to get off-planet. Departure

Skywarp served as the shuttle's pilot, which served as a point of contention when the bounty hunter Devcon stowed away on board, who didn't like that the Wreckers apparently now included Decepticons and Predacons among their ranks. As the shuttle approached the Archa system, their given destination, Skywarp detected the homing beacon of the Sojourner's Passage, an exploration ship that was lost centuries ago. Since the Autobot shuttle had been damaged en route, once it had landed on Archa Nine, Skywarp helped repair it while others searched the surface. While Skywarp was occupied with this, Cyclonus revealed himself as a traitor, stealing the Divine Light, a mysterious artifact the Wreckers were sent by the Oracle to find. Betrayal

Heh.

Though it's likely Skywarp didn't really care, the rest of the Wreckers were dealt a blow to morale after this betrayal. Regardless, the Wreckers set off for a new destination given by the Oracle, a desolate ice planet on which a search team found an exiled Quintesson scientist named Al-Badur. While Al-Badur was explaining the meaning of the Divine Light, an army of Sharkticons attacked both the search team and Skywarp and the others back at the shuttle. Skywarp was able to easily destroy their attackers. The search team returned to the shuttle, and Primal Prime told Skywarp that he'd be taking direction from the Quintesson. Al-Badur asked Skywarp what compelled him to join this team of Autobots and Maximals; Skywarp told him it involved "returning a favor" and "Decepticon honor," things he wouldn't understand. Disclosure

After receiving an encrypted message, Skywarp flew the Wreckers back to Cybertron as quickly as possible. Cryotek and his Quintesson partners had invaded the planet. But on arrival to Cybertron, the Quintessons' attacks were so thick that they kept the shuttle from being able to land. Primal Prime ordered a few of the Wreckers off the ship to join the troops below, while Rodimus, Skywarp, and the remainder were to land elsewhere. The Wreckers: Finale Part 1

In the aftermath of Cyclonus's betrayal, the other Wreckers were understandably wary of Skywarp, though the Decepticon claimed he had no part or knowledge of his fellow Decepticon's actions. While circling overhead Cybertron, the Wreckers' shuttle was critically hit. Rodimus told everyone else to evacuate while he kept the ship level, but Skywarp chose this moment to strike. He knocked Rodimus away and told Tap-Out to help everyone else disembark; the Decepticon was going to guide the shuttle down. When it landed, taking out a large portion of the Sharkticon invading forces in a fantastic explosion, the Wreckers were shocked. Skywarp had sacrificed his life for them? As Rodimus began to give a regretful eulogy for the untrusted Decepticon, Skywarp appeared behind them, laughing about his sweet maneuver. He had, of course, used his warping power to leave the ship at the last moment. "Did you see that? I think I managed to shove the forward nacelle antennae right through the Quint Overseer!" Everyone grumbled.

Unfortunately, Unicron has no stairs.

As their group joined the battle against Cryotek and Cyclonus within Cybertron, it seemed Skywarp may not have been so forthright after all. He violently silenced the overbearing Ramulus (muttering that he was surprised no one thanked him) and took his place at Cyclonus's side. Rodimus was understandably confused and hurt, but Skywarp told the Autobot that he'd more than paid him back recently and he no longer owed the Wreckers anything. Cyclonus laughed, and told the Wreckers of his mental link to Skywarp. But Skywarp muttered, having "always hated that," and attacked Cyclonus. He reappeared at the Wreckers' side again, noting that he'd only harmed Ramulus to get in Cyclonus's good graces long enough to deal the blow.

I'll settle with the zoo crew later. But you.. I never liked you. Even when you were a bug I hated your stinkin' circuits. Like I said, only one guy ever bossed me around, and it sure as slag ain't you.

But Cyclonus had scores of Sharkticons at his disposal, and they quickly filled the chamber. Rodimus wanted to throttle Skywarp for what he'd done to Ramulus, but Skywarp shrewdly pointed out that they had bigger problems at the moment. But in the middle of the battle, a strange surge of energy passed through the subterranean chamber, flowing through Tap-Out and Skywarp, causing both to disappear in a flash of light. Wreckers: Finale Part II

Skywarp and Tap-Out had been abducted by Unicron and, under undisclosed circumstances, Skywarp joined Razorclaw's Minions of Unicron during the Universe conflict. During the final battle within the Pit, he was defeated by Sideswipe and Sunstreaker. Revelations Part 2

Dreamwave Generation One continuity

Events from The Transformers Trilogy novels are in italics.
You know the seekers are in trouble when Skywarp is the brains of the outfit.

Skywarp was one of Megatron's "inner circle" in the early days of war on Cybertron, with standing high enough that he was among those who stood at the Decepticon leader's side as he delivered speeches to his burgeoning army. The Route of All Evil

Some time into the war, on the eve of the appointment of the Autobots' new Prime, Skywarp and Thundercracker were sent to blow up a building full of pesky neutrals in Altihex. Skywarp confided to his partner that he had spent some time debating whether or not it was the right thing to do—not because it was morally wrong or anything, but because it was too easy—but had concluded that, hey, of course it was, and promply murdered the neutrals. The War Within #1 Some time later, the two came with Starscream when he tried to sway Grimlock into joining the Decepticons. Skywarp tried to stop Starscream from spilling the beans about the Seekers' next mission at Sector Zero-Six, but was told to shut up. When the trio later carried out said mission, they found that Grimlock had evacuated the area and placed a bomb to welcome them. Skywarp barely had time to teleport himself and his comrades away before the place went up in flames. The War Within Preview When Starscream decided to blame Megatron for what happened, Skywarp snapped and pointed out that it was all his fault for telling the enemy about their mission, then took off with Thundercracker. The War Within #3

"Fool! To a master of Stairpushikato, your geeky Metallikato is almost slow motion!"

Following the disappearance of Megatron in a space bridge accident, the Decepticons split into several splinter groups, but Skywarp stayed with the main faction under the command of Shockwave. He participated in an attack on the minions of The Fallen in Protihex, where his teleporting power enabled him to get the best of Bludgeon and gun him down. Conflagration

Skywarp was part of the original crew of the Decepticon flagship the Nemesis who attacked and boarded the Autobots' Ark when it departed Cybertron on a quest for energy. The craft crashed on Earth, entombing all occupants for four million years, until they awoke in 1984 to continue their war. More than Meets the Eye #8 The war reached its climax in 1999, when the Autobots and their human allies defeated the Decepticons. Skywarp and the other prisoners were loaded aboard the spacecraft Ark II with the intent that they be returned to Cybertron, but the vessel had been sabotaged by arms dealer Adam "Lazarus" Rook, and exploded mid-flight. Lazarus recovered the bodies of Skywarp and the other Decepticons, and spent the next several years reprogramming them in order to sell them to foreign powers. Prime Directive #5

Skywarp and the Seekers care not for following intended Play pattern for their new toys.

In 2002, Megatron was finally able to overcome Lazarus's programming, and proceeded to free his Decepticon subordinates in order to put forward his plans to infect Earth with a metallic virus. To pass the time while preparations for this plan were being put into motion, Skywarp, Starscream and Thundercracker occupied themselves by tearing apart the small Autobots that had also been captured by Lazarus. Prime Directive #3 Once the virus had been unleashed, Skywarp participated in Megatron's attack on San Francisco, where he and his felow Seekers blew Superion into his component Aerialbots with a cluster bomb barrage. Prime Directive #4

When Megatron was kidnapped by the Keepers and Decepticon leadership was up for grabs, Skywarp began acting more serious and ambitious than his regular "lunatic prankster" persona would suggest. One of the few Decepticons who aggressively refused to follow Starscream in Megatron's absence, Skywarp teamed up with the Reflector trio in an attempt to seize power for himself. He lured Starscream into leaving his new kingdom in Las Vegas and travelling to Hoover Dam. Once there, Skywarp challenged Starscream directly for leadership of the Decepticons. He failed miserably, however; Starscream dealt Skywarp severe damage using his null bolts at close range, then tossed his former wingman over the falls. Skywarp was in stasis lock for some time thereafter, and he begrudgingly chose to serve under Starscream after his repair cycle aboard the Nemesis was completed. Hardwired

When Grimlock and his private army of humans attacked Las Vegas, along with Prowl and Bumblebee, Skywarp was among the Decepticons who charged out to meet them in battle along the Strip. As Thundercracker and Soundwave kept the rampaging Dinobot's attention, Skywarp prepared a delicious, underhanded sneak attack. Diving at Grimlock at full speed, Skywarp planned on unleashing his heat-seeking missiles at near point-blank range for maximum devastation. Luckily for Grimlock, the little Autobot Bumblebee was willing to sacrifice his functionality in order to keep the more powerful Autobot warrior in play and took the full impact of the missiles at the last second. Enraged, Grimlock struck Skywarp with enough force to send him flying miles away into the desert and out of the fight for the immediate future.

Curiously, Skywarp chose NOT to leave Las Vegas with Megatron once the former Decepticon leader returned to Earth. Damaged after his time with the Keepers, Megatron lost a fight with Starscream and was forced to relinquish his leadership to the Aerospace Commander. Still, Megatron refused to serve under Starscream, and he led a revolt of several Decepticons into exile. For whatever reason, Skywarp remained at Starscream's side until the Keepers attacked, possessing Starscream as a host body and caging the rest of the Decepticons still in Las Vegas inside a dome of impenetrable energy. Skywarp assumed command of the remaining Decepticons in Starscream's absence and directed the Constructicons into not attacking the dome directly as Devastator, but digging beneath the energy field to forge a tunnel they could exit through. He also made contact with Megatron's forces outside the city and agreed to wait patiently until the time was right for all the Transformers to assault the Keepers as one.

When the time came, Skywarp "allowed" his Decepticons to join forces with Megatron's, because it was the only "logical" thing to do. During the fight, he blasted the Bluestreak-Keeper with an explosive gamma radiation blast. The attack was effective, but proved moot when the Bluestreak-Keeper fused with the Starscream-Keeper, creating one massive and deformed robotic god figure. In the end, it was Optimus Prime and the power of the Matrix which finally ended the war with the Keepers, diverting the force of a nuclear missile launched by the American government. In the aftermath, Starscream's scrap was salvaged and rebuilt, but Megatron chose to make Skywarp his new second-in-command for a time, mostly just to piss Starscream off. Still, Skywarp certainly saw it as the most "logical" thing to do. Annihilation

In Washington D.C., Megatron and the Decepticons stormed the White House to show their displeasure to the President for trying to wipe them out with a nuclear strike. Megatron assigned Skywarp to deal with the SWAT teams in the streets, then sent him into the skies to join Starscream in shooting down the air support called in by the military. Final tally—Starscream: 12, Skywarp: 5. Sometime later, Skywarp was present in the Nevada desert when the Autobots and Decepticons confronted the United States military. Thanks to their airborne tactics, Thundercracker and Skywarp did significant injury to the troops and survived the deconstructionite assault virtually unscathed. After the Keepers were finally defeated and Starscream had been restored to his normal, irascible self, Megatron chose to restore the status quo and replaced Skywarp with Starscream as his second-in-command yet again. Fusion

Although it's hard to see how, the author(s) of The Transformers Trilogy may have confused Skywarp with Shockwave, or at least combined their roles and personalities into one character. Throughout the Trilogy, Skywarp made repeated references to the "logical" course of action, and once made an oblique reference to his gift over the electromagnetic spectrum. Whether there was actual confusion involved, or if the pick-up writer David Cian was forcing Skywarp to fit a role once Dreamwave's comics made using Shockwave off-limits, is unknown.

When the Decepticons clashed with the Autobots over a crashed Autobot vessel discovered in the Arctic, Skywarp engaged Ironhide, dodging the old Autobot's blasts with his teleporting ability and shooting him in the back. This battle was soon interrupted by the arrival of Shockwave and his army of Triple Changers, who had come from Cybertron to bring the planet's errant sons home. He quickly disposed of Megatron and demanded that Skywarp and the others submit to him. New World Order The Decepticons somewhat begrudgingly assented to return to Cybertron, but upon arrival Skywarp and Thundercracker were amazed at what Shockwave had accomplished in their absence. While relaxing in an energon bath, they debated how to proceed; Thundercracker believed it would not be long before Shockwave demanded they pledge themselves to his cause, but Skywarp didn't care much, advocating they do what they always did and pick the side with the biggest guns. Brothers' Burden

Their tune soon changed, however, when Shockwave's dark schemes were uncovered by Optimus Prime; the two Seekers tried to shut the blast door to the command centre before the Autobot leader could make it through, but they failed, and Prime throttled Skywarp until he coughed up Shockwave's location. Countdown to Extinction Presently, Starscream passed through on his way to the shuttle bay, intending to escape the planet and return to Earth, and he ordered Skywarp and Thundercracker to accompany him. Revelation

Back on Earth, Skywarp was part of Starscream's initial salvo against the Ark, a decoy to be deliberately taken prisoner in order to draw out the remaining Autobots where the newly reformatted Combaticons could get at them. Night of the Combaticons After decimating the Autobots' ranks, Bruticus freed the fallen Decepticons, and they were about ready to terminate their opponents when the awe-inspiring clone known as Sunstorm emerged from fold-space, looking to have words with Starscream. Sunstorm's "purifying light" induced an energon overload in their systems, knocking them into stasis lock. Black Sunshine Skywarp and the others remained Autobot prisoners until Starscream negotiated a deal for their release in exchange for his aid against Sunstorm. Skyfire

The Age of Wrath

G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers continuity

Skywarp finally plays an actual prank within official fiction!

Skywarp was one of the Transformers reprogrammed to serve the terrorist organization Cobra and was, along with Thundercracker, rebuilt to transform into a Rattler aircraft in the process. Their first mission was to show off Cobra's power by assaulting a peace ceremony in Washington, D.C., and either Skywarp or Thundercracker was the first to reveal his robot mode to the shocked Air Force before wrecking Ace's jet with a single punch. G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers #1

When Wheeljack undid Cobra's reprogramming of the Transformers, Skywarp waited on the runway in Rattler mode until Major Bludd, unaware of the plane's true identity, decided to use him as his ticket off Cobra Island. After causing Bludd some stress by refusing to start his engines, Skywarp revealed himself and told him that he'd rather walk, then transformed, crushing the human to death with his moving innards in the process. G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers #4 He then joined Thundercracker in fighting Sideswipe, Sunstreaker and Cliffjumper, who had also been freed from Cobra's control. G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers #5 Unfortunately, the two Seekers were later caught in the SPS Satellite's rain of energy beams and deactivated. G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers #6

As Skywarp's coloration is identical to Thundercracker's in this series, it's possible that it was actually Thundercracker who killed Major Bludd. However, it feels more like something Skywarp would do.

"Your stairs are WAAAAYY too small for me to push Thundercracker down! What's up with that?!"

Skywarp was among the Decepticons revived by Cobra in 1938. He may have been one of the Seekers driven back by the Aerialbots in the battle of the Fera Islands. Trial by Fire Later, during the Autobots' attack on the Terrordrome, Skywarp was lounging about when he overheard some Cobra troopers talking dirt about the Decepticons. Picking one of the humans up, Skywarp suggested that he be a little grateful that the Decepticons were helping them conquer their filthy mudball of a planet. Before he could finish insulting them, however, Optimus Prime burst out of the ground and beat him up. The Iron Fist

The Beast Within

Skywarp participated in a savage all-out Decepticon offensive against the Autobots. With the Decepticons maintaining the advantage throughout the battle, Skywarp was amongst those who approached a crippled Optimus Prime, ready to dispatch the Autobot leader. Before they could deliver the finishing blow, the Dinobots combined into The Beast, shifting the Decepticons’ priorities. Skywarp joined several other flying Decepticons in a direct assault against The Beast, to little avail. The Beast then killed him. The Beast Within

"...I was told there'd be punch and pie? And stairs."

Skywarp, Thundercracker and Starscream were early recruits for Megatron, helping sow terror across Cybertron and kidnap Senator Decimus just prior to the Great War and founding of the Decepticons. Megatron Origin #3 When Megatron made his big push to conquer Kaon, Skywarp and Thundercracker shot down a civilian cruiser. Megatron Origin #4 At one point he was part of a squad intent on assassinating Zeta Prime, but the plan was thwarted when Blurr warned the Autobot leader (tackling Skywarp in the back on the way). Spotlight: Blurr

"You're under arrest. Hands where I can see them, and go stand directly on top of those stairs, over there."

Alongside several other Decepticons, Skywarp showed up to stop Orion Pax when he was arresting Soundwave near the Kaon border. Holding Bumblebee hostage in case the Autobots tried to start any trouble, they warned Orion that he had no jurisdiction in Kaon and let him know that Megatron wanted to see him. The Hunt for Soundwave Unfortunately, Orion Pax rejected Megatron's offer to join him, saved Bumblebee and fled. Skywarp offered to shoot down the Autobots' escape vehicle, but was ordered by Megatron to let them go. Cause and Effect Megatron later led him and several other Decepticons to Nyon, where they prevented Zeta Prime from killing Orion Pax. Megatron and Orion then agreed to work together for the purpose of overthrowing Zeta. Choices During their combined attack on Zeta's Citadel, Skywarp utilized his teleportation abilities for aerial harassment. Overthrown After Orion was presumed dead, Skywarp and Thundercracker brought Hot Rod to the Decepticon-controlled Citadel for an audience with Megatron. Rise Megatron ordered Starscream and the other Seekers, including Skywarp to defend the Citadel from the assaulting Autobots and the alive and well Orion Pax who was now Optimus Prime. They were intercepted by the newly recruited Aerialbots. Broadcast

Following Megatron's defeat, Scorponok announced to Skywarp and the rest of the Decepticons that he was their new leader. Wreckage His first act as leader was to lead the Seekers on an attack on the Toraxxis mega-refinery, Faces of Darkness and later sent them to bomb Starsreach Spaceport. Massacre After Megatron took back control of the Decepticon forces, he summoned them to the ruins of Harmonex to chase the Autobots away from a fallen Trypticon. Skywarp was more interested in destroying the weakened Autobots right then and there, but was ordered to let them go. Belly of the Beast

After absorbing Trypticon into the Decepticon army, Megatron took Skywarp and his other loyalists off Cybertron on board the beast's space-faring mode. Primacy #1 Returning after gathering up those who'd defected during Scorponok's time, the Decepticons assaulted Iacon where the Seekers participated in a preemptive strike on the Autobots' new ally, Omega Supreme. Primacy #3 This didn't quite work out as planned: not only was Omega protected by a force field, but the acid rain unleashed upon the battlefield by Megatron corroded the Seekers' engines, causing them to crash. Primacy #4

In one of the war's countless battles, Skywarp witnessed a yellow Autobot get destroyed in a Decepticon-Autobot crossfire. Drift #2

Following the cataclysm that rendered Cybertron uninhabitable, Skywarp wound up part of a Decepticon infiltration unit under the command of Starscream. Taking up residence on Earth, the unit began working to destabilize Earth's governing organizations and create global anarchy in accordance with the infiltration protocol the Decepticons now operated to. In 2006, after having spent about four years on the planet, the unit discovered that Earth was home to a strain of super-powerful "ultra energon"; this decision caused Starscream to break protocol and relocate their base of operations, and Skywarp and Blitzwing were assigned the task of wiping out all traces of their operation up to that point. Sporting an F-22 Raptor fighter jet alternate mode, Skywarp teleported himself and Blitzwing from location to location, destroying every trace of Decepticon activity: first Tucson, Arizona, where they destroyed the trailer home of Stoker, a human who had uncovered their plans; then to Riverside, California, where they reduced to rubble the garage of Autobot ally Jimmy Pink; and then to Phoenix, Arizona, where they blew up a coach Stoker had previously ridden. Infiltration #3

Skywarp learns what happens when he pushes Megatron down a flight of stairs.

Skywarp and Blitzwing's next target was the bunker in Nebraska that the infiltration unit had previously used as their base of opertaion, but when they arrived, they were surprised to find Autobots Bumblebee and Ratchet waiting outside. A brief battle ensued, but the most damage Skywarp sustained was a slightly clipped wing courtesy of Bumblebee. Infiltration #4 The Autobots disposed of, the pair turned their attention to the bunker and began bombing it... but unfortunately for them, they had no idea that Megatron himself had arrived on Earth and was inside it at the time. Emerging from the rubble in a fury, Megatron blasted a hole right through Skywarp with his fusion cannon. Infiltration #5

Megatron was apparently not one to hold grudges, and Skywarp was soon repaired and functioning again in time for the Decepticons' deployment of the aggression-inducing Psycho-Prism in Latveria. Megatron had Thundercracker and Skywarp bomb the neighboring country of Symkaria so they would blame Latveria and start a war. Man and Machine, Part Two After the duo's return to the array the Decepticons were using to broadcast the prism's effects, the structure was besieged by Autobots and the superhero team known as the Avengers. Man and Machine, Part One Skywarp, Thundercracker, Runabout and Runamuck powered-up using the captured Spider-Man's super powers as part of mirror response mode and engaged the heroes in battle, Man and Machine, Part Two but the two Seekers were soon blasted out of the air by Iron Man in Transformer-sized armor. Man and Machine, Part Three His disabled form was later teleported away when Megatron called for a retreat via emergency warp-out. Man and Machine, Part Four

"It followed me home, Megatron. Can I keep it?" "Having a pet's a big responsibility, Skywarp."

Skywarp was present when Megatron held a meeting to make sure it was perfectly understood there would be no second chances when it comes to insubordination. Escalation #1 To get the infiltration protocol back on track, Megatron assigned Skywarp the task of locating some new fragile monarchies that could be their next targets; while investigating Africa, Skywarp was contacted by recent Decepticon arrival Ramjet, who proposed that he join up with him in a coup against Megatron. Skywarp thought it was a big load of crap, but said that if Ramjet could get some results in one day, they'd talk—though he reminded Ramjet of the old Cybertronian adage, "always bet on the leader." Spotlight: Ramjet Following this, Skywarp was dispatched to the Middle East on a mission to incite conflict by destroying a power plant, during which confided in Thundercracker that he believed Megatron had it in for all of them—himself in particular—though his fellow Decepticon pointed out the fact that Megatron did have Skywarp repaired. Escalation #2 Skywarp subsequently travelled to Brasnya with Megatron and Blitzwing, Escalation #3 using his teleporting powers to bring in Astrotrain to assist him in engaging the Autobots who soon arrived to thwart their schemes. Escalation #4 Things turned sour for Skywarp after Astrotrain was injured, so he teleported away to gather reinforcements Escalation #5 and returned with Thundercracker, who joined him in firing on Hot Rod until the Autobot escaped by orbital jump. The battle ended when Megatron, defeated in battle by Optimus Prime, called upon Skywarp to evacuate him, in his shrunken pistol mode. Escalation #6 The furious Megatron went on to slay the treacherous Ramjet, and Skywarp smirked at the sight of his ex-comrade's decapitated head, remarking that betting on the leader was always the best gamble. Spotlight: Ramjet

Skywarp was among the concerned Decepticons who feared that Megatron had lost all sense of reason when he deployed Sixshot on Earth. They conspired to bring Starscream back into the fold to talk some sense into their leader, Devastation #1 but an additional wrinkle soon appeared when Skywarp detected the arrival of a strange alien space ship above the Decepticons' base. Devastation #4 It's occupants, the Reapers, laid siege to the base, but it was only through Starscream's lone stand against the aliens that the Decepticons were emboldened into counter-attacking. Devastation #5 The Reapers were soon bested, with Skywarp participating in the destruction of their starship. Devastation #6

Who needs Cerebero Shells when you can pee null rays?

When the Autobots withdrew from Earth to deal with an incursion by the forces of the Dead Universe, Skywarp and the other Decepticons went into hiding in preparation for a major strike against their enemies. Withdrawing to Cybertron, Megatron ordered the creation of an Insecticon swarm, but these twisted abominations were an affront to Thundercracker, and Skywarp, though confident in Megatron's plan, could do little to calm his brother in arms. The Decepticon then returned to Earth, where they lured the Autobots into a trap and utterly crushed them, with Skywarp ripping Sideswipe's arm clean off. All Hail Megatron #7

With the Autobots exiled to the dead Cybertron, the Decepticons launched an all-out assault on Earth, beginning with New York City. Skywarp gleefully awaited Megatron's arrival of the battlefield, and his anticipation paid off: when his leader appeared, the devastation the Decepticons unleashed against the attacking human military was without par. Skywarp—his alternate mode now an F-15 fighter jet—shot down the plane belonging to a pilot named DJ, who tried and failed to collide his crashing craft with Megatron. All Hail Megatron #1 After taking out the humans' air forces, Skywarp was assigned to accompany Soundwave, Hook and Astrotrain as they took Frenzy to deal with a large ground force. The Constructicon doubted that the tiny Decepticon had a chance against such a huge number of enemies, but Skywarp, enjoying a chance for a dig at the new guy, simply told him to make sure he kept his distance. All Hail Megatron #2 With all human resistance crushed, Skywarp and the other Decepticons stood before Megatron as he delivered a speech announcing their victory. All Hail Megatron #4

A rare moment of Skywarp just killing someone instead of pushing them down the stairs.

Granted free reign to revel in the Decepticons' triumph, Skywarp celebrated by murdering half the population of Beijing, China. When Insecticon Bombshell didn't share in his delight, the pair began arguing; Bombshell's insults against the Seekers and their standing proved too much for him to brook and a fight broke out, but with the aid of his teleporting powers, Skywarp got the drop on the other Insecticons and sent them fleeing. Thundercracker, however, growing increasingly concerned with the directionlessness that seemed to be overtaking the Decepticons, took no enjoyment in the brief clash, and Skywarp flew off in a huff, starting to wonder where the fun in smashing things and killing people was if his fellow Seekers weren't going to enjoy it with him. All Hail Megatron #6

When the Autobots eventually returned to Earth, Skywarp battled them in the ruins of New York City. All Hail Megatron #11 He grabbed Kup and took to the sky, asking the old timer why he wasn't insane anymore. Kup responded by calling Skywarp a "mouthy punk" and shooting him in the gut, causing him to drop the Autobot. The Decepticons fled when Megatron was defeated, but Skywarp came back when he noticed that Thundercracker had diverted the nuke that Megatron had arranged to be dropped on New York. Furious at his fellow Seeker's betrayal, he ignored Thundercracker's arguments and shot him point blank in the face. All Hail Megatron #12

Even after collecting a stash of huge rockets and dangerous weapons, Skywarp will never stop pushing his enemies down the stairs of death.

Though Thundercracker would survive the attack, Starscream later remarked that Skywarp had been appropriately punished for attacking a fellow Decepticon. Woken Furies His punishment apparently was to be stranded on Earth while most of the other Decepticons left, but Skywarp made the best of his situation; rather than seek a way off the planet, he instead spent the next two years stealing and stockpiling human weapons for Megatron's eventual return. His attacks on advanced technology companies Dynomic and Allodyne Logic Systems drew the attention of Skywatch, The Hanging Sword but the technology he obtained from them went towards a weapon he was building that would be capable of crippling all the Autobots on the planet. After beaming signals into space in order to report his progress to Megatron, The Impossible Knot Skywarp attacked Skywatch's Phillips base to gain information on the final component his weapon needed: the control board to the kill-switch badges that rogue Skywatch colonel Gordon Horiuchi had recently been using to coerce the Autobots into working with him. The Gift Horse Tracking the board to the home of Skywatch researcher Sanjay Bharwaney, Skywarp moved in for the kill, but was foiled by the timely intervention of Bumblebee, who evacuated Bharwaney, his daughter Serena, and the board. Skywarp chased them into an industrial area and hunted them through the rubble, ranting about how recovering the board would make him a hero when Megatron returned. Even the intervention of Skywatch operative Daniel Klonowski helped little; the weapon he fired upon the Seeker with injured him but left him undeterred, and Skywarp soon managed to corner the Bumblebee, who threatened to activate the board, triggering an EMP that would knock both himself and Skywarp out. Skywarp offered to let Bumblebee go in exchange for the board as a "professional courtesy", but his confidence was misplaced: secure in the knowledge that, unlike Skywarp, he had friends who would repair him, Bumblebee triggered the board, frying both his and Skywarp's systems. Wings of Wax

Evading capture by Skywatch, Skywarp was able to recover and somehow rejoin the main Decepticon force, which had encamped on a barren asteroid in space. He witnessed Megatron's return in a powerful new body, and threatened to teleport his fist into Windsweeper's abdomen if he dared intervene in Megatron's punishment of Starscream for leading the Decepticons into ruin. Spotlight: Megatron Like the rest of the Decepticons, he followed Megatron back to Earth, where he was present when Optimus Prime gatecrashed their base. Enemy Mine

The Transformer equivalent of a purple nurple.

After arranging for the Autobots to return him to Cybertron, Megatron used the space bridge technology built into in his new body to summon Skywarp and the rest of the Decepticons to him. It was his intent that they would battle the Autobots, but instead, they were soon mind-controlled by the Dead Universe entity known as D-Void into combining with Galvatron's Sweep army to form a huge monster. Kings Megatron defeated this "Deceptigod", causing it to collapse back into its weakened component Decepticons, who were detained by the Autobots and kept under control through the implantation of inhibitor/deterrence chips that locked away their weapons, alternate modes and special abilities. The Autonomy Lesson.

The means of D-Void's defeat had triggered a reformatting of Cybertron, reverting the planet to a primordial state and summoning many of its departed population home, resulting in an unstable political landscape that the I/D-chipped Decepticons were employed to police. Before long, Ratbat took control of the Decepticons and had Soundwave and Shockwave hack the chips and restore Skywarp's abilities. Using his teleportation, he secretly observered as Horri-Bull pushed his luck, forcing Bumblebee—now Autobot leader—to kill him by detonating his I/D chip. After reporting this to Ratbat, he was assigned his next mission, in which he took great enjoyment: to assassinate Bumblebee and leave the NAIL Zetca to take the blame. Starscream, seeking a new approach, leaked the plan to the Autobots and Skywarp ended up being ambushed and arrested by Prowl. The World & Everything in It

If Arcee's going down those stairs, you can damn well believe she's taking Skywarp with her.

Skywarp was locked up in the Autobots' prison, where, months later, he was later surprised to see Starscream stop by to visit Megatron, who had recently returned after a prolonged absence and immediately been incarcerated. City on Fire The Decepticons subsequently rioted and stormed the prison, liberating Megatron, Skywarp and other captives. The Verge Skywarp joined Turmoil on the front lines as the Decepticons began tearing through Iacon, Before the Dawn though their efforts were stymied by the arrival of Autobot reinforcements led by Ironhide; Skywarp tried to take cover behind Frenzy's sonic barrage, but when the little Decepticon was defeated and he was left alone, the Seeker fled the scene. Plan for Everything He returned to action as the battle neared its climax, using his teleportation skills to duke it out with Arcee, but the dangerous fembot was able to predict where he would materialize, and stabbed him in the chest mid-warp. Heavy Is the Head When the dust settled, Starscream emerged victorious as the ruler of Iacon, and banished the Autobots and Decepticons from the city; Skywarp was among the exiled, but his injuries began to affect his control over his teleportation power, causing him to have trouble keeping himself solid. Shockpoint

Skywarp couldn't get his parents to fall in love at the "Enchantment Under the Sea" Dance.

Despite his wounds, Skywarp joined the Decepticons under Soundwave's command in an attack on Bumblebee's Autobots at the feet of the gigantic Metrotitan that mysteriously appeared on Cybertron on their first night in exile. Winners & Losers Learning that the rogue Shockwave was behind the undead "Necrotitan" and that he had captured Megatron, Skywarp participated in a joint Autobot/Decepticon attack on Shockwave's Crystal City laboratory. During the battle, Skywarp took it upon himself to free Megatron from the scientist's grasp, only for his condition to worsen and leave him in mid-phase-out, unable to interact with the world around him. He scrambled for some nearby Ore-14 to repair himself, but it was all blown away by the Necrotitan, leaving him to lament helplessly as he lost control completely and just... disappeared. Finest Hour

Just pretend you're pushing them all down the stairs at once.

Skywarp was eventually able to reconstitute himself enough to teleport Metalhawk and Waspinator out of Crystal City and to Starscream, whom they warned of the next step of Shockwave's devastating plan. The Becoming Autobots, Decepticons and NAILs alike formed an elite team to confront Shockwave at his base, relying on Skywarp to teleport them there, though the Seeker wasn't strong enough to bring all volunteers and left some behind. As soon as the group arrived at Crystal City, a sudden attack by Bludgeon upon Waspinator startled Skywarp, and he lost control of his powers and tumbled backward, phasing through a wall and disappearing again. Black Planet Megatron and Optimus Prime proceeded to defeat Shockwave, destroying the time drive fuelling his plans, which collapsed into a localized black hole. Skywarp came across Galvatron and Dreadwing scrambling to escape the singularity and teleported them and himself to safety. ...And the Damage Done

In the days that followed, Soundwave and Galvatron forged an alliance and sought out a new path by returning to Earth. Skywarp went with him, his body now wired into a machine in their starship in an apparent attempt to direct his out-of-control powers. Six months after Shockwave's defeat, Skywarp used his machine linkup to remotely teleport the Decepticon forces back up from Earth after they were felled by the Earth Defense Command's "mind bomb" weapon. In the Decepticons' desert headquarters, Starscream told him about the plans to conquer Earth, and ordered him to fly ahead of the Astrotrain, leading the way towards New York City. Alternity

Someone pushes HIM down a flight of stairs for once. Payback's a bitch.

A Skywarp from an unspecified universal stream was selected by Megatron to become part of his Questor forces. Granted a portion of the hyperdimensional powers that his leader had obtained from the monstrous Hytherion, Skywarp was given a new body with an uncharacteristic sports car alternate mode, a Timaeus drive that granted him the ability to travel through dimensions, and a massively enhanced teleportation power that actually allowed him to warp the fabric of space and time around him. About the only thing that didn't change was his characteristic lack of intelligence and initiative; coupled with the brain-bending complexities of higher-dimensional life and battle, this meant that Skywarp was left still relying on Megatron's specific orders for and when to use his powers.

Skywarp proved his worth when he succeeded in his mission to scour the year 2010 all across the dimensions for a trace of the two-dimensional world of the Planicrons. Precisely what Megatron needed the Planicrons for, Skywarp didn't know, but he recalled a rumor among the Questors that they were key to the destruction of the Alternity, and smirked with excitement to himself as he informed Megatron of his discovery. Hunt for the Planicrons Using Skywarp's information and a magical tablet his other agents had obtained for him, Megatron took control of the Planicrons from his base on Menonia and used them to attack the Alternity. Skywarp was at his side during these events, and was first to notice when Thundercracker, under cover of a distraction provided when Starscream made another fruitless grab for power, deactivated the tablet and freed the Planicrons. Cloud

"Here's someone at the stairs..."

Skywarpis a Decepticon who resides in Cloud World's Underground. He can teleport over short distances, though this ability uses up a lot of energy.

After suffering heavy damage, he was evolved into a new body by Megatron and became Hellwarp (ヘルワープ Heruwāpu). In this form he's way more aggressive and ferocious than he ever was as Skywarp, though no one knows if this is a side effect of his forced evolution or actually his true nature, which he'd previously suppressed. Armed with the Hellwinder (ヘルワインダー Heruwaindā) arm-cannon and an upgraded teleportation ability that lets him warp continuously without worrying about energy consumption, Hellwarp is a much more menacing warrior than his past self.

Notes

Cry Havok and slip down the stairs of prankdom...
  • Skywarp's one-line characterization in the original Transformers production bible was "sneaky but dumb". Hee hee. [1] In a more peculiar note, his longer write-up in the production bible noted that he was colored olive drab. [2] This error isn't as unusual as one might first think, as Skywarp was the only first-year jet whose colors didn't originate in Diaclone—thus, they simply may not have been decided upon when the production bible was written.
  • A handful of Marvel Books coloring books (among them Decepticon Patrol) depict Skywarp and Thundercracker with original head designs. It's possible these were developed so kids could tell the characters apart in black and white, but the numerous character model oddities in these books make any kind of certain judgment difficult.
  • Stories written by Simon Furman (including The War Within, Regeneration One and his contributions to IDW Generation 1 continuity) usually depict Skywarp's teleportation as the opening of a distinct portal in space through which he and others can then travel. Other creators opt—following the lead of the original The Transformers cartoon—to present the power as Nightcrawler-like self-teleportation, with Skywarp disappearing in a flash of light.
  • Character bios written by unknown persons for the Australian (Madman) DVD release of The Transformers: The Movie definitely claim that Skywarp became Cyclonus. Basically, nobody considers that weighty "evidence".
  • For such a popular character, Skywarp doesn't DO much of anything in the original show. But (as stated above) he is the first Transformer we see reformatted with an Earth-based alternate mode in the cartoon continuity.
  • Skywarp has never actually, technically been seen pushing anybody down a flight of stairs. Like how OJ Simpson was never actually, technically been seen killing his ex-wife.
